The SR/F demo bike at the track day I went to today, didn't last very long before it was out of charge, I heard.

Not sure how many laps/riders, but it was out of juice pretty early on. I don't think they plugged it in though.

Although, everyone who I heard talk about it after riding it was pretty blown away. Several track racers were impressed by it.

I did not get to test ride it.

I think the farasis cells of the zero are the most energy dense in the EV industry, from what I understand. Alta had a more energy dense pack, all in all, but I believe the cells in my Zero are the most energy dense in the entire EV game...

Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

Z-force is the motor... the batteries are constructed by them, but the cells are from company called Farasis. Check them out - doing great things.

Were you in Cresson? I was there on the T120.

It surprised me when I triggered it. It makes a rasping sound that, at first, I though was the belt skipping. It suspect it’s loud and kind of obnoxious so the rider will know with certainty that he’s triggered it. Not sure I’d have had any idea I’d done so, otherwise.

Yeah, I was the guy on the VFR.

You rode the one at the track yesterday? What were your thoughts?

I rode it on the street Saturday, not on the track.

I really enjoyed the bike. I know others have thought it’s too heavy, but it felt reasonably light, to me. My reference point is the T120, so that may color my perception on weight.

I heard they were zipping it around the track pretty fast.

...why cant they make it charge itself as it goes?... i mean they have figured out how to regenerative braking and regenerative coasting; why not regenerative acceleration ?

seems like getting these things to charge themselves off the drive should be a no-brainer but instead "they" (you know who you are) have decided to nerd out on making them charge themselves... with the fucking breaks... wtf?

You can. You just have to eliminate one item out of the equation.. friction.

Yes, one hopes, but there are still people who don't understand basic physics. In which case the use of the term "no-brainer" would be painfully ironic. For those who think that post was anything but humor, regardless of intent, look up "TANSTAAFL" and begin your educational journey.

I think swamp was having some fun. It's an "alternative facts" world for about 40% of the US electorate right now, so why not roll with it.

So the Zero SR/F with Cory West got 5th in class, 23rd vehicle overall. Not bad for Zero's first real effort at racing:
