Due to heavy rain and snow melt Zion National Park is currently closed on the east fork of the park(Zion Mt. Carmel Tunnel/Road) due to a retaining wall breaking.

On the west fork(Virgin River Side) there was at least one Boulder that fell and several trails closed.

Called a "Long Term Closure", not sure when you will be able to travel through Zion to connect Highway 89 and Highway 9.

Thanks for the heads-up. Looks like Pine Creek took out the road/bridge abutments at the East end of the tunnel.

As of a few days ago the tunnel is now open but no large/oversized vehicles.

Thanks again. I'm heading through there next week.
As a side note, the creek that caused the damage passes under the road and almost immediately drops into one of the most spectacular slot canyons around. Very vertical with a couple of long free rappels.
