Awesome GPS. XM Weather is worth the nominal mo.fee. This GPS for me smokes my 550.

Nice pics! what is the biggest differences for you between the 550 and the 665? What do you like better about the 665?

    6 main things for me.
1-nexrad weather plus bulletens, warnings and reroutes away from rain
    along with road conditions
2-wireless xm in stereo. have not done it yet but it supports it
3-the way it hooks up. much better harness and mount plus it has two 3.5 mm audio outs
4-no security screw so much easier to take with you(and anyone else)
    5-wider screen
    6-lane assist(some cities)

It still is not perfect. has crashed a few times. 550 never did.
I believe 660 has some of these features but w/o XM the 660 did
    not interest me.
    Hope this helps.

Is the display easy enough to see in daylight or bright sunlight?

    Thanks.

Marginal. Not as bright as my 550 but I have not seen any that work great in real direct sunlight.

How much does it cost (that nominal monthly fee) to get the weather on the GPS?

this doesn't have have quite the detail as my 376c but it does have features that I really like. Phone connectivity and stereo xm with weather is perfect for the bike

Just subscribed to the XM on the 665, they asked if I was told I would get three months free, so naturally "YES". 3 months free service, adding weather was @ $4.00 / month.

Because of it I was able to miss all the wet on a 1200 mi trip, it works well and I was pleased with this part of the unit/service.

And did that $4/mo weather addition allow you to follow a saved route and have bad weather show up overlaid across your route on the map, so you could try to dodge it and still see the roads you were on?

    Yes,
When I select the weather page it shows current radar and my selected route. Also, when weather page is not in use and storms are near you will get a chime and weather alert.

Very handy. I was able to choose alt route and miss a big wet section, 500 mi day and missed more than one thunder shower.

I am using a $20. set of buds from Radio shack, they are ok, not great. after 10-12 hrs I was ready to get them out, sound was fair.
