Never had an issue with that myself...

Overall I found my 'Busa to be much easier to work on than my '12.

Yep, a Pitbull steering head stand makes it super easy.

One of these for sale locally, single owner... 75 year old... seems babied. Tempting! But alas, with two in the garage there is no room at the Inn. I wonder if these will be collectable as the years go by. They look like a blast, and at 6'5 may actually be a decent fit for a supersport.

Sounds like the fit would be perfect for you. I miss mine terribly. I always keep an eye out for one to keep as a nice weather bike. They are a bit of a bastard to work on.
out of curiosity, what year, mileage, price are you looking at?

I've got the itch for a hyper lately. There's a 12R locally with 53k on it for $4000 that's got me thinkin'... Couple of Gen1 Busas too, less miles and more cash.

I'm a big DIYer so the Busa gets the nod, but I've read the 12R is more for the adrenaline junkie. :hair

Having owned both, the 'Busa is definitely the better bike. Doesn't have that top-end Kawasaki rush like the '12, though. ;)

I test rode a green ZX12R when they first were put on market....Loved the way it felt...
But no money at that point
The Hayabusa was claimed to be better/faster, so in 2002 I bought a all black Hayabusa Limited when I finally had $$$.
On the first ride home, I thought....damn....the Kaw felt better behind the bars.
They definitely look better (first year green).

The Busa obviously grew on me and I still dust it off in the garage.

    I loved that bike...damn.
But as the others wrote, one gets used to even that kind of power, with some time/miles.
I remember when I was on the autobahn to try to get it to 300km/h which it was famous for that time. Speedo was on 310, but the nav said it was only 29x. I'm too fat...

I miss mine. ‘04 ZX12R. In Candy Thunder Blue. Still the best looking bike I ever had. Addicting power.

Nice upgrades for these bikes are getting almost impossible to find . Took about 2 months to get this rear hugger from Germany

Way to keep it clean. Maintaining these things are a pain due to the design. I know a guy who went through hell getting a turbo correctly fitted, compared to a Hayabusa that has a typical airbox.
