Redbull is well known for sponsoring and producing extreme sports content. But they may have outdone themselves this time with the ride-along stuff. This time, the energy drink maker uses two different disciplines to capture the action and perhaps make you dizzy. Frankly, it did make me a bit wobbly.
The video captures the antics of French freestyle motocross expert Tom Pagès. In it he rides a routine over jumps and through the woods. The action is so dramatic that it sometimes looks more like a video game than actual footage shot by a drone.
That’s where the second discipline in this vides comes from. The footage was shot by Tom <<Tomz>> Panaiva who is reportedly one of the pioneers of Freestyle drone. I didn’t know that Freestyle Droning even existed before this video. Perhaps you know about it, but it is completely new to me.
Pagès goes through about a one minute routine executing various tricks. As he does so, the drone flies around him, in front of him, beside him and behind him. It’s quite impressive if not vertigo causing. I have no doubt if I watched this video in series for ten minutes or so that I’d be needing a barf bag.
So take a look at this brief video and let us know what you think. Do you think it’s impressive? Does the drone add or subtract from the action? What about both the rider’s and the drone pilot’s skills. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
