In a quest to woo tech-savvy younger riders, Hero MotoCorp has started a motorcycle home delivery service. Hero is the number one seller of motorcycles and scooters to India’s humongous motorcycle market. They sell one of every two motorcycles sold in India.
For a fee of ₹349 (less than $5 USD) buyers can book home delivery of the ride of their choice. Buyers can make delivery arrangements through Hero’s electronic portal.
Presently, the service is available in only three cities (Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Noida). But Hero says it plans to expand this service to 25 cities within the next few months.
Hero MotoCorp Head of Sales, Aftersales & Parts Business Sanjay Bhan had this to say about the home delivery program:
“We continuously invest in developing innovative processes and business models to ensure our customers get the best in class experience. Our new initiative will raise the bar for customer experience in the two-wheeler category. As the youth of today increasingly look for value-added services in every purchase that they make, brands have to step-up their strategic thinking to stay ahead of the curve in a rapidly evolving market environment.”
We have been the first-mover in the e-commerce space and we are continuing this trend by commencing this new service. The motorcycle or scooter can be delivered at any address of customer choice, not just at your home.
You have to admit that Hero is going the extra mile to make potential customers happy. But would home delivery of your new motorcycle make you more interested in buying a bike from a particular manufacturer? Let us know in the comments below.
