Hero MotoCorp claims that it is India’s largest motorcycle manufacturer by sales volume. But apparently, that is not enough. A recent company announcement says that it intends to increase its model lineup.
And they mean to do it in a big way. Hero says it will roll out 50 new motorcycle models by 2025. That’s 10 new models each year. This newest goal comes on the heels of Hero, surpassing more than 100 million motorcycles sold.
During a celebration event, Dr. Pawan Munjal, the Chairman, and CEO of Hero, was enthusiastic about what the future holds for the company:
“We are going to continue to ride our growth journey. In keeping with our vision to ‘Be the Future of Mobility’, we will be launching a host of new motorcycles and scooters over the next five years, in addition to expanding our global footprint.” With Hero MotoCorp’s extensive vision, the company will likely propel itself even further in the Indian market as the biggest motorcycle manufacturer.
And, Hero is getting right to it. During the same celebration event, six new editions of their popular scooter and motorcycle models were revealed. The bikes include the Splendor+, Xtreme 160R, Passion Pro, Glamour, Destini 125, and Maestro Edge 110. Each of the new machines will go on sale across India next month.
The design, manufacture, and release of any new model is an accomplishment. But releasing 10 new models in a single year, for five years, is significant. It will be interesting to see whether Hero accomplishes its goal.
