KTM, the manufacturer of the Husqvarna 701 Enduro LR, is recalling all 2020 Husqvarna 701 Enduro LR motorcycles. The problem stems from two separate fuel lines that may experience chafing. KTM says that the cause of the problem comes “…from the shape and mounting position of the original fuel lines on the front fuel tank.” The chafing could cause the fuel line(s) to leak and potentially start a fire.
Only 171 motorcycles are affected as Husqvarna discontinued the 701 Enduro LR in 2020.
The affected population of motorcycles includes all Husqvarna 701 LR motorcycles as follows:
Production Dates : MAR 05, 2020 – OCT 13, 2020
VIN Range 1: Begin: VBKUEV404LM795818 End: VBKTR3406LM790768 ✔ Not sequential
To remedy the problem, KTM has designed two new fuel lines with a new shape and developed an additional clamp. Under the recall, dealers will remove the faulty fuel lines and replace them with the newly designed versions. They will also install an additional clamp to the fuel lines. Dealers will make all repairs at no cost to the motorcycle’s owner.
Husqvarna is notifying all registered owners of the recall by mail and is notifying dealers using Husqvarna’s internet-based Dealernet.
