Hi I'm hoping the group can help me - this is a fairly specific wiring question and I just can't find the answer. 2015 GSA Denali horn negative to ground, positive wired to PDM60 circuit 5 I'm trying to have the CanOpener trigger the horn and can't get it to work. I've checked connections, etc. My understanding is that I use the blue 'ground trigger' wire off the pdm60 to trigger circuit 5 and therefore the horn. I'm using the grey 'to horn' aux wire off the Canopener. Checks with what I've read here and seems logical. What programming option do I need to use for that particular channel: I can't make it work with 'ground trigger'. thank you!
^ Grey Canopener wire is "horn relay drive" as in trigger wire not a signal wire so that may be the issue you're facing as in trigger wire doesn't have the juice to power horn?
You have to have a relay between the horn and power. Power from PDM to relay to horn. Ground from ground source to relay or to horn. Trigger from Canopener to relay. The canopener will trigger the relay to close when you hit the horn button, this allows the full power to go from the pdm to the horn until the trigger is released which is you letting the horn button go.
Gotcha thank you - I thought the trigger from the canopener essentially allowed the pdm to act as relay/power source in one. I'll go give it a try with a relay.
Bingo - added a relay between pdm60 and horn, triggered off canopener and BLAST! thanks all for the help!
