Or cut to the chase and buy a 701 SM,stick the euro ECU in it,and slip on muffler and have an 80+HP go getter on backroads.

Love the bike but damn! that seat height. Can we have some lowered SM or streettrackers? I don't know how Shayna does it.

Dude,it takes no time to put a lowering link on a 701,and slide the forks up in triple clamps a ways,my buddy did on his.
Bikes are all tall these days, its the deal. I rode the thing and damn do they go fast.

Even in the days of 35mm forks, a few manufacturers had fork widths that would accommodate modern dirt track tires.

For me every bike needs suspension work, so if I was going that route, I’d just have the shock lowered internally and the forks done the same way. The same way all the flat track dtx bikes are done. It doesn’t cost any more to lower it once you’re having suspension work done.

That’s an interesting concept, im not too into the 690/701 bikes though. But for a street smasher could be fun.

A 2017 701 or newer are the ones to get,its said KTM has finally fixed the suicidal tendencies of their big singles. I rode a 2017 and its beyond an eye opener, pulling to 125mph if needed.
Way faster then any big single I have owned or ridden. And minor mods net more easily. There are deals to be had on left over 2017's.

The Illinois motorcycle fraternity lost one of it's premier voices yesterday in the passing of Alfred "Tote" Gray. Many did not know that without his individual efforts there might not be a Springfield Mile today. I could go on how he promoted races throughout the midwest both amateur, professional and national, but many of us in the Peoria area have experienced his humble efforts. God Bless you Tote!

If you go to the AFT website Home page, under events you will find a complete schedule under Daytona TT. FYI, the singles final is set for 8:55 and the twins for 9:25.

Thanks. I just managed to get the website on my smart tv. Now gotta wait til later to see if I can watch a live broadcast. Why can’t a smart tv be as easy to use as a phone/tablet?
