Ya, you weren't getting up Goler Wash without lockers or a winch. There was about an 8-foot drop off back then. The bikes could go around it. We made it there once on the bikes before it burned down. :freaky

in the past several years and as a dvnr denoobing tradition, we were able to get jimmy lewis to offer a special class (in pahrump) right before the event. what makes this different is you get to use your newly acquired skills on the following days to come in death valley. the normal weekend class, you go home then wait for an opportunity to ride or find dirt, which may happen less sooner.

jimmy's school is basically a small business and needing a minimum number of students of 12. if peeps signs up and bailed out, it puts him in a tough position. at the last class, jimmy got burnt and now he's a little concerned. so, i only ask peeps who are seriously interested to sign in. i will need a $100 deposit to get you on the list. it will be refunded if you take the class, otherwise, no refund.

as an additional incentive, i will refund $50 which you paid when you registered to the event. you can use that to donate to charity by buying raffle tickets, and if lucky enough you'll be taking home cool prizes.

please post up if this interest you.

believe me. next to buying a motorcycle, the best money spent is on taking the class.

I’ve been to several of his classes and get better each time. Better for me is SAFER and less fatigued at the end of a long day. My goal isn’t to get faster, just fewer tip overs and more confidence when a hard part of the trail comes along. I can’t tell you how much his training has made my dual sport riding more enjoyable!

For those who are considering a Jimmy Lewis class: Just do it. Jimmy and his wife Heather are not just good instructors, they are truly outstanding instructors...World Class all the way. Incredible patience coupled with step by step easy to follow along techniques really bring you to a higher level. There is absolutely no reason to be intimidated taking a JL class. Wifes: Get your husband a class for Christmas, Husbands: Get your wife a JL Class for Christmas. Corporations: What a Team Building experience this is. Maybe you can't make the Pre-NooBs class...go to the JLwebsite and book another class.

I’ve been to two of Jimmy’s schools. Both on big bikes. My first was on my 1150 Adventure. I learned a lot. Had a blast and got real sore. I came home with much better skills.
My second class was on my 990R. Single day class during the Pahrump Rally. I was hammered in a he heat but learned a lot. The balance drill will teach you more about where you think your ability is and how much you can improve in a few minutes. That was the single most amazing take away that day for me. I had zero opportunity to ride after the rally. My year was all work and stuff.
Now as a retired old fart. I know I am able to make time for practice almost any time I choose.
I’m not going to be able to swing another school this year due to other projects, but I’ll have some practice.

And the classic pic is of you or your bud hiding under the sink where Manson was found by the cops. :deal

That's cool - I will see if I can make the JL class - have to check my schedule and logistics.

Hey I have a question, I usually buy an annual National Park Pass and I get the sticker for the bike. I went one year when I just went into the station and bought a short use and they gave me a little paper sticker. Is there a message going out about DV NPS access to avoid any unpleasant issue with the Man?
