It's that time again folks - time to start booking your ADV rally calendars. After two phenomenal years, the DirtDaze crew is promising even more fun and adventure at this year's event:

If you have not yet been, it's well worth the trip as the event is staged at the Painted Pony Rodeo - the perfect spot - away from all the craziness of Americade, but close enough if you want to take in both events. Lots of area lodging available as well as tent/camper space at the Painted Pony Rodeo grounds.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

I did this last year and was a good time. The camping is pretty crowded, pretty much door to door. The bar/grill on the site is a plus. Good food and drink at a bargain price. The guided rides are fun, but sign up early, they fill up fast.

Bumping this thread to see who is in - hoping folks can get pre-registered to reserve a spot on the group rides - they fill up fast to don't wait too long. The event nearly doubled in size last year over the inaugural year and it is expected to grow again.

Group rides are great, full day events with lunch. A few pics of our 2017 Lake George Loop for your viewing pleasure:

Definitely heading back this year. Missed last year.

@Kanoona Depends - what do you like to ride? I heard nothing but good things about all the routes and the ride descriptions are quite accurate. Two years ago I did the VT route led by MotoVT and it was the gnarliest of the bunch. Heavy rains the day before meant muddy Class-4 roads and one climb turned all of the largest GS bikes around. The rest of the route was varied and at times pretty technical - a blast!

Again, the route descriptions are a good indication. Gorgeous terrain everywhere in that area.

The VT ride is always a favorite - Eric from Moto VT leads this one as much of it goes through areas he leads tours regularly - can get pretty technical in places and everyone seems to really love this route.

I led the Lake George Loop last year - if you enjoy a long day in the saddle (180 miles) on lots of fast dirt roads, this is a good one. We even stop at a Beta dealer along the way. We got out at 8:45 and back in the pen ~ 6 ish. A few smaller hero sections and a ferry ride across from Ticonderoga into VT. They may reverse the route this year.

Going to be pre-riding the Indian Lake Loop this spring with the other group leaders as this is a new one for 2018. Sounds great - I will post up more upon checking it out.

Hopefully by tomorrow, DirtDaze leadership will release the full list of ride routes and slots available over the course of the 4 day event. All of us guides are anxious to hear what routes we'll be getting so we can start analyzing them via computer in preparation to pre-run them over the next couple months.

Can't say enough good things about this rally, organized well, perfect venue, it's relaxed, the food is great, presentations & events, bonfire, obstacle course, guided rides, etc.

If you haven't been, seriously consider checking it out - you'll be glad you did.

I'm not one for the pay to ride events, but this one is the exception. It will be crowded if last year was any indication. And there is limited space, so don't wait. I imagine they will have a cut off. P6090001.JPG

Any idea if vendors (ie: Wolfman, Klim) offer product discounts for the event?

Thinking about trailering my bike up Thursday, tent camping Thursday night and riding Friday. Can I park my truck and trailer in the tent camping area or should I get an RV camping spot? Thanks!

I think last year they parked the trucks and trailers down the hill if you were not staying in them. I think some still slept in them. Your best bet is to contact Dirt Daze on the website.

I suspect they may have hit their quota for volunteers for this year's event. As the same team coordinates both Ameridade and DirtDaze, they are super busy during the three months prior to the event. Returning guides have been contacted but are waiting to hear what our respective route assignments will be and when the pre-runs will be scheduled (usually within 2 weeks prior to the event).

I registered the day it opened (seemed like loads of fun) but only found this thread today, lol.
Should arrive Tuesday night and staying until Sunday morning.

Will be doing the Oasis Tour Ride on Friday, but evidently will also scrub around for some non-official group rides the other days.

See you guys there. If you see an all white G650GS stop by for a chat and a beer (first round on me!)

BUMP - checking in to make sure folks sign up for the guided rides as early as possible - they are filling up fast. Worked on the Oasis Tour today and it has some cool stops in store for riders who have signed up for it. See you all there!
