Actually had about 50GB of photos/videos. Each night Id go through them to find the ones we wanted to post. That got us to around 11-1200 photos.

We did stop in rather late in the day. What a cool place! Grate food & service. They even took our pic & posted it on the site. Loved it!

I've been home from this epic ride now for almost 3 months and in that time I've only only ridden 500-600 miles, turned 62 years old & I cannot stop thinking about it. I' ve already started a file for the next Alaska trip. A slighty different route but I will be retired & be able to take a little more time & enjoy the towns that I pass though that appeal to me . I simply can't say enough about how this this ride impacted me. Yes I did it with my son & a good friend but the country, the remoteness is fantastic. I encourage anyone thinking about it to do it! You will not be sorry. June worked out very well for us weather wise. If you like to ride do it!

Had 2 short trips 1,500 and 2,700mi, not counting regular 100mi/day commute.. about 9k?

Dempster suppose to open to Tuk in November, there's Cambell running in parallel to Alcan and D2D will be at summer solstice mark the date.

I have a decade on you and did the AK ride in the Summer of 2016. It had a significant impact on me. I think about AK almost every day. ( AK includes BC and The Yukon ).

    Thanks for the ride report.

How did you guys handle the " I am going to stop for a picture"? Did all stop at the same time, slow down for the photog to catch up, or just meet up at the end of the day?

    Thanks,

    Ben.

Sometimes all the above, except meet at the end of the day. We tried to stay close since something minor is a much different situation when you factor in the remoteness of most of the places we went. The Sena's helped a lot. I would tell everyone that I am stopping for a photo and keep going. I snap a few and then catch back up. More often than not, we all would stop to marvel at the landscape. We also took quite a few on the fly. The first few days there are very few pics as the landscape was very familiar and we just pounded out interstate miles. The Sena's were the key to coordinating photo stops.

This just keeps getting better! At 62 years young I bought my first Gold Wing last week, used 2008. My lovely bride & I are planning on doing basically the same trip with a few additions, West Texas, Wine Country. I'll leave off some of the dirt sections & remote camping. What's the old saying "the road goes on forever & the party never ends". Now to get the Wing figured out (lot's of buttons & switches) and start the planning process all over again! She's going to love this!

Congrats on the next shot at it. Without her home though, who is going to pay the bills and mow the grass?

Good point. Brother-in-law can mow the lawn, he owes me. Only bills are utilities & I can probably set up auto pay or do it from the road via ipad or something.
