Moab 17 The Thrill of Victory & Agony of Defeat

I spent the better part of the past 9 months viewing all my Moab 17 footage to come up with this version of events. This mumbo-jumbo assortment of clips is presented to show the lighter side of the TW gathering this past March 2017. I cannot guarantee no TW (or KTM) rider got hurt during the filming of these clips but if they did they didn't fess up to it. At the end of the video, I have a short still photo section.

After an overnight blizzard, I decided to take the TW out for a romp in the fresh snow.

I said to myself, "self, stay out of the ruts". I didn't stay out of the ruts.

It was about 25F (-4C) degree's out when I left and about 40F (+4C) degree's when I got back home a few hours later.

    Don't fight the ruts.

It's a national secret on how I got the "action shot". :lol3

Still taken from the drive-by video with my camera taken off the helmet and placed on a glove on the ground. Highly technical I know! :-)

    ...and I didn't fall.

Georgie is hanging in there. Been retired from riding for a couple years now. Lost her hearing this year too, most of it anyway but she's learning really well at reading lips and sign language. :D

We recently got another dog but not in any conventional way. My wife had agreed to take a co-workers dog and take care of it should the lady pass away. This was about six months ago. About 3 weeks ago we now have a dog. Sad situation but "Roscoe" is feeling more comfortable each day. Georgie gets jealous if I pet Roscoe and comes and pushes Roscoe out of the way. Other than that they get along really well.

I don't think Roscoe has the motorcycle riding gene in his DNA but that's ok.

    Again, Merry Christmas.

P.s. I like your new van. :clap

Love that picture. Give Georgie a good back scratch for me. Us old dogs enjoy a back scratch by the fire.

Winter Series #3 XT200 Emergency New Year’s Day Run for Potato Chips

    For the love of
God, we ran out of chips so I must do my duty. Well, I can't actually remember if we had any but there was none to be had so off I went.

This was a New Year Day ride but it wasn't meant to be just that. Matter of fact, I wouldn't have ridden at all had it not been for the negative chip factor.

This trip was not without its dangers though. I had to dodge around a missile attack from that nutcase from North Korea. Apparently, the Back 40 looked like an inviting target. Who knew!

If that wasn't enough, then the tumbleweeds tried to attack to stop me from accomplishing my mission.

But I got 'er done and all is well in Jackass Gulch! (you can barely see the ranch dip in the upper drink pocket. Never go home without the ranch dip).

    Carry on!

That must have been a serious craving, I don't get that serious unless alcohol is involved. Nice video.

    TW200 Ride in the Desert

A longer video than I normally post but it's hard to convey the ride by chopping it up in 5-10 second clips of the most interesting parts. Though I've cut out most of my "contemplation moments", you will see my thought process, kind of. When I stop on the trail and look forward then rearward, I know I'm screwed from returning so I just keep pushing on.

I did show about 20-30 seconds of a couple parts of this video in one earlier this year but this shows what it's really like.

Ya git a much deeper understanding of the situation when an ol' cowpoke starts talkin to his own self even though there ain't nobody fer 20 miles or so.

:lol3 Ya got that right. Horses and mules (and stock dogs for that matter) pretend to not understand us when we do get into one of those "self-discussions". I think they start giggling when our backs are turned.
