    Its bitter sweet but no I will not be making this trip next year. I hope to do it in 2019. I was accepted into the fire academy and will not be out of my probationary period until this time next year.

    Thanks for all the detailed advice I will be using it for sure once I make the journey.

    I'm currently planning a trip (been back to the UK many times), stumbled on this thread and had a great time reading it. I love the details from Nickguzzi (of course, Guzzi!!!), especially the Norfolk notes - my home county. Great stuff that anyone visiting the UK would do well to read.

    But please don't blankly discount the south, we have some great country roads, fantastic pubs, castles, stone circles, and history going back to the Celts.
