Could someone take a look at this route posted here and get me around Lee Creek Rd, BUT going down Pannell Rd?
I do want to take on Pannell, but as posted previously Lee Creek Rd is impassable?

    Thanks

    Jason,
You really need to learn mapsource. This change took exactly one click of the mouse.

    Here ya go. Enjoy.

Jason, you will be fine if when you get to hwy 220, go right (north) to pannell road..you'll be away from Lee Creek..when you come down Pannell, if you go left abt 1/2 mile, you will see Lee Creek..and down load my Pannell Rd/Lee Creek bypass and it will take you back up and around those two to put you back on your track..your track looks fine, just do not go left/down (south) Lee creek rd and you will be fine.

Thanks. I looked at your bypass. I'm still learning this mapsource stuff, so it's taking me awhile to figure all of this out. :scratch I'll find time tomorrow to take a closer look at things and see if I can move some waypoints around.

Ok, so I head north on 220, hang a right on Lee Creek, to Old Cove City Rd, down Pannell Rd, Then head west on Creek Fork Rd?? then peaceful way down to 59 which will take me back to 220 north.

yep..if you wanna do all the pavememnt..but if you want more dirt, go north on 59 to Liberty Hill Rd to Barkers Gap then circle around back to your track there at Pannell road..pretty easy..bring up the bypass and look at it and you will see what I am talking abt

If you guys want some free topo maps that will load into MapSource check these out:

    http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/maps/state/ar

I've got two loaded that seem pretty nice:

    Arkansas Topo 24k+
    http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/maps/view/137/

    Arkansas Contour 20ft Overlay
    http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/maps/view/370/

After installing you will see a pulldown in MapSource where you can change maps. Kind of nice to see what the topos look like for all of these GPXs.

I think the overlay can be used on a gps in conjunction with a base street map. That way the topo will be overlaid. The first one, the Arkansas Topo 24k+, is nice in MapSource, but when I used it on my Nuvi at SLAP last year it was too much information unless I really zoomed in.

Anyway, I thought I'd throw this out there since it's a pretty cool freebie.

This route was sent to me by our very own Elwuss (elvis/Darron)..this is a couple of routes together..a route from White Rock to Natural Dam thru Warloop and Pannell road..NOT BIG BIKE FRIENDLY!

A route from Oark up to Partheon/Jasper, over thru Kingston and back towards Fayetteville..

I converted this route from a GDB to GPX in Mapsource 2010.1

again, this is not a track! It is a route.

I played with the bypass last night before I saw your post. I'm getting better with Mapsource, but wanted to be sure the lee creek bypass was as much off road as possible.

If I invert the route, some of the roads change on the route :hmmmmm

I wanted to invert it and have it on hand incase we got a late start on saturday and wanted lunch on time in Oark. I just ended up redrawing the route using the same waypoints and the routing tool.

Here is a ride for Friday afternoon that I would be glad to lead whoever is interested. I plan to arrive about noon or shortly thereafter. Ride is about a 3 to 3-1/2 hour ride depending on how often we stop and smell the roses. The route goes from WR to Possom Trot Creek and around then up to St. Paul and Bidville back to WR.

Count me in OLEARY. I should arrive around 11 AM Friday and will be on a 2009 Kawa KLX 250, unless I bring my truck due to bad weather. Planning to follow JasonK94Z on Saturday, so this should be a good warm up. Hope my puny 2 gallon gas tank will not be an issue, as plan to keep a tank of gas at the Lodge, and a siphon in my pack just in case!

I friday afternoon ride sounds good, I plan on being there Thursday night or early Friday. Still trying to figure out the new GPS so tag along would be great if I could.

I will also be on a 09 KLX but with 4 1/2 gal of gas so I'll have some extra if needed.

Tag alongs are always welcome..come follow us! :evil

aint nuttin wrong with that! If you stay on the main roads, it's real hard to get lost..road layout is pretty simple..we will try to have a large basic road map up for you to look at and get the idea
