Probably not, but it's all in the mind!!
I've noticed they've become an optional extra on some new bikes though.

A centre stand is a must for adv riding, as you've shown changing a tyre without one is a drama..

Try telling that to the "Aussie Husky 701 owners thread" & the "KTM 500 Oz Adventure bikes".

    G,day...

My starter motor on the 2009 990 R has given up...

I have pulled it apart and it is beyond salvage.

KTM here in Aus want $660 or so for a new one.

Looking at the web I see there's replacement starters for a lot less but are not genuine.

Any thoughts or knowledge on these replacement starters, I don't see a brand on them, most probably out of China or similar.

Any ideas on a genuine Denso starter from overseas...

Not overly concerned regarding the shipping side of things.

    Thanks

    Grog

I was greasing my 03 ktm 950adv swingarm today and found a crack in it. I have seen pic's of other '03' swingarms cracked in the same place. Has anybody had there swingarm crack welded up and then reinforced like ADVRonski?
Grog I've used after market starter motors from 'whites power sports' on atv's but can't remember what brand they were. About $120-$180 v $600 oem.

You carry (a book) on a desert crossing ? through heavy sand where fuel and water conservation is paramount and your all up weight is in excess of manufacturers allowance and the suspensions capability is exceeded, where weight saving becomes a matter of staying on or falling off due to physical exhaustion?, what book is it? must be quite important. is it a survival guide for travelers who break their sub-frames and dent their rims on an adventure due to overloading ?

Got one made at an hydraulic hose shop, just take your drain plug to get the correct size fitting.

Does anyone know what this plug is? I can't for the life of me identify it with the wiring diagram or connector list:

If its this one, it was not connected to anything on mine.
