Sounds like a great adventure so far - we are all enjoying the RR and photos!
If you have the time while in Revelstoke, take a ride up to the Mica dam. It’s much more than worth the time.

May I suggest a stop at the Toad Rock Motorcycle campground in Balfour...just 5kms south of the Ainsworth Hotsprings....It is truly a place to behold and you will be thrilled. Mary and Grant are two to nicest people you will meet..reservations not required but bring cash...its a cash only place...I swear its the coolest place you'll every stay at.

Sounds like a great trip so far. Keep the report coming and be safe out there!

Strong winds on a motorcycle can be terrifying, especially the first time you encounter truly strong cross winds. The more you do it, the easier it gets though.

My first trip longer than a few days was to Newfoundland. Soon after getting off the ferry I encountered the strongest winds I've ever experienced in a motorcycle. It was absolutely terrifying and blowing me all over the road. A few days later I found out that particular place is infamous for the strong winds. In fact they have a name for the strong wind there - the wreckhouse winds. Lol

Day 4, July 4 - Toad Rock Campground
    Negligible mileage

Day four began with the Toad Rock pig squealing and dogs barking nearby. I enticed piggy over with kissy noises, and despite its filthy state and excessive fat it was sweet natured and rolled over for belly rubs when I offered cashews and scratched an ear.

After the first day of T. suggesting that I lead, yesterday I finally asked her to lead, please, and she was happy to oblige. She drags me along nicely as I’d lag pretty slow otherwise, and I have no issues if she’s inclined to carve up some curves and await my catch-up like Michael did the other day. I need more seat time and this trip is incredibly important. I’m analyzing my conscious incompetence especially in left-handers, which has to do with a general lack of coordination among my left limbs. A smooth turn in, looking ahead and leaning in from the core, a shift of the hip and leg along with the shoulder drop and push through with the wrist, a unified intention expressed through the bones and muscles needs to become unconscious so I’m not correcting mid-curve or even thinking at all ...feelings feelings sensing seeing going going yeah! It’ll come.

After breakfast at the camp, Tahnee made off for Nelson and I poked around camp — posting ride reports, checking in on social media and comms channels, and trying to do a load of laundry. The latter held me up through series of annoying events but finally around 2:30 PM I had clean clothes hanging up to dry, and made off for Ainsworth Hot Springs resort. The barely 10 km ride from the campground to the resort was a magnificent roller coaster of joy. For $12 I spent 2 1/2 ridiculously mellow hours moving between the hot, hot cave section, the cold plunge pool, and the more tepid main hot pool. Shades of the Turkish baths in Granada, definitely one of my favorite many memories of my honeymoon in Spain with Wyeastrider. An older Gent had a great perch in the superhot cave, and he reminded me that to purge my body entirely of evil spirits I couldn’t neglect the cold plunge — and so I didn’t! My nearly omnipresent need for sustenance — I would nibble all day like a bird if I could — asserted itself just T arrived for a dip after hours in Nelson sorting out eyeglasses. So I dined alone and absorbed the gorgeous view of forested hills and a few snowcapped peaks rising between behind Kooteney Lake, the pale blue evening sky marked with high long clouds and low puffy ones too, I hope all is well in the world at large, but I know that working on my inner peace and overall equilibrium is the most potent thing I can do right now — walk the talk of liberation from suffering. Namaste!

The scene after dark at Toad Rock was more mellow than the prior night, when many had heavily indulged in alcohol. Still, games of pool and music around the fire were played. A fellow pledged his interest in me and other men circled both of us badass ladies, but we expressed a sigh of relief in the end to have an early night in our tent on a super chill travel day.
