Good news/Bad news. The good news is it looks like BMW are finally letting us have black luggage and racks. Bad news is it may well cost as much as $200 per case extra plus the racks.

    ($ price country specific)

I'd pay that no problem. Sounds cool!

The cheapest thing about a BMW Motorrad is...

    yes, the rider.

I covered my 2017 triple black, with carbon fibre film, looks so good, and it attracts a lot of attention.

You can get better looking and quality luggage, for a lot less money from Bumot or Globescout. The ONLY advantage to the BMW luggage is it can be keyed with the bike.

Now with so many of the bikes being sold with the keyless ignition this is much less of an advantage than it used to be when you always had the ignition key at hand. I wish the Bumots could fit a helmet in their pannier cases, as this would make an easy decision for me. I don't need pannier and a topcase, but holding a helmet and jacket are my primary need. Everything I've read about the Bumots has been extremely positive and using the stock GSA mounts is such a huge plus in terms of cost and installation hassle. At this point I'm probably going to go with the 46L Dolomiti topcase for weekend riding and commuting. At which point I need more luggage space I'll probably go the Blumot route.

I'd take a hard look the Brooks. Less than half the price and so far although I have not dropped it (yet)

Yesterday I found that I found I could fit my Shoei Syncrotec helmet into the top case. A bit squeeze but it closed without any problem.

I moved the BMW bags from my '16 to my '17 Triple Black and had Hourglass Cycles vinyl wrap them and a little powder coating done to make a Quadruple Black. I think it looks good and I didn't have to buy new ones.

Brooks is having a sale on their panniers. $599 for the boxes and $149 for the racks. They can be had in black FYI

Here's the bike after some farkelization, and a few days on North GA fire and NFS roads and before it's bi-annual bath. IMG_0285.JPG IMG_0283.JPG
