Some not so good news. I went out to start my gs this afternoon. It was in the 20's here last night. Was 35-36 when I hit the starter button. Turned over a few seconds but did not fire. Cracked the throttle a bit & tried again. Then cycled the key. It took about 8 or nine tries before I got it going. The starter seems to kick off after about 3 seconds or if the engine tries to fire but then doesn't catch. Fuel injection should work better then this I would think. Once it fired off it idled fine.

On a side note, the outside air temp reading in the dash didn't show a reading. The F was showing but no number for the temp. It was reading fine the last time I road when it was 48F. I'll stop by the dealer tomorrow I guess.

The temp reading in the dash is the engine temp, not the outside air temp. At least on mine.

Ours is the same, will not start from cold without "jiggling" the throttle, it seems the EFI is not set correctly on its Cold Start Map, we will have a look at it soon when we dyno it with the new pipe.

Well that very well could be. I have the engine temp screen up. I thought it had outside air temp on there also but maybe not.

Does anyone know if the ecm on this BMW can be flashed? In other words, if new improved software becomes available, can the ecm be updated with new software with some type of scan tool?

Can not wait to put some miles on both my new bikes. The weather has been terrible up here for the last 6 weeks or so. Only about 100 miles on the little beauty.

No, they are the $1,000 Rally Raid Products heavy-duty spoked wheels from the UK.

Anyone have any ideas where you connect heated grips? It sounds like the factory heated grips mentioned in the owners manual may not be available until the end of the year.

Check out revzilla, they’re selling ones for the 3GS.
Seems they attach to the battery and have a electronics gizmo to control settings.

Looking for a Tail Pack that will mount on the little rear luggage rack. Or a good tank bag. What are you guys finding?

    hi

The Oxford series 1 - 36 liter fits quite nicely. It is also expandable. I also have put on the lower seat, so my 5'4" legs can now reach the ground :)

    I love this bike!
