as per that link, size is 2x 28x52x16mm SKF 32028XQ. The two rings (act kinda seals) may need to be replaced most likely the one bottom.

that's the one. I'd used the fiche parts from http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/fiche/DiagramsMain.aspx?vid=51546&rnd=03192010

to find the exact number and then called BM to get the part. I changed both but only destroyed the bottom one :rofl

We have a Rally coming up in May. Mendocino National Forest Rally. We did a little Recon on friday. The guy on the XR400 is Charlie Rauseo Team Manager of Rally Pan Am 3x Dakar racer and stange winner. Only saw him at the rest stops.:D

I just spoke with David at best rest Strange how he advised me to deal directly with rally moto down under. I wonder if we can get an adv group buy.

I still cannot figure out why a us distributor of the product would bypass himself and send a customer right to the manufacturer.:huh

Time frame on him getting some in stock?? Maybe thought if you wanted one now, getting one from them directly would be quicker.

    Hi Guys,

The reason I think you may find David could not help with a damper kit is that we have not yet finished the RM2 kit due to getting our hands on a bike to do a final check and some more measurements. (the bike that coming to visit got crashed....:cry)

I will get something organised asap and with a group buy I will also speak with David too, as I think it is better for our US customers to deal with Best Rest and our Canadian friends I will get in touch with Dave at Fast Forward Motorrad.

I will get onto it and get back to you all with some answers asap:D

    Cheers

Guys, if your bike starts, then stall, then runs fine, but starts/stall when cold...it's time to check the valves...

I was told not to worry about the valves until 20K miles...My bike was starting to suffer from the start/stall problem...and I changed the plugs..cleaned the air filter...and was just about to bring it to the dealer for a computer check..but being snowed in for the last 6 weeks, I decided to check the valves....both exhaust valves were tight...reshimmed it..and the stalling is gone...

I have 13,000 miles on her...

Just wanted to share my experience...

I am switching out the air shock on my X to an Ohlins.

    Quick question
What do people do with their Air Shock when they switch them out?

Is there a resale market for these or would you advise I just keep it on a shelf in the garage ?
