honestly, is easier my way. doesn't really matter if it's a $900 device that is causing problems or a $3 USB cord, eliminating the error prone part makes it all much better.

Not to reopen this thread but... Im still annoyed...

Still no change on the Nav VI issue... I've read all the threads on the net, tried EVERTHING and filed issue with Garmin. Hopefully they will fix this soon.

I bought the Nav VI a few months ago with the release and have had no luck either. (iPhone 6 / Sena 20s / GPS Prepped 12GSA) I even picked up a SRC System Pro for my C3 Pro with no luck and even tried a different iPhone. Occasionally i'll be riding along and it work as advertised but it is so inconsistent and hard to replicate. I am disappointed as I bought the GPS for the music feature so i can keep my phone safely in my pocket or bag.

rugged phone, under $100, plays music all day, does GPS great too. put it on the bars and don't mess with the annoyances again.

ohgood, you are very right but...

You know the quote... the one about "too far to turn back now..."

Got too much money invested. Cheaper to keep going forward this time and learn from my mistakes. :)

Problem solved for my next bike = Paper maps and me singing in my helmet.

I fixed my issue with it... I bought a 1200 Rallye with TFT screen and On Board Computer Pro- it allows me to deal with my music... : )

Nav VI software update, v. 4.90, was just released within the last two days. It promises to fix a number of issues, including playing/streaming music.

Any experiences since the update? I’m having problems but don’t know if it’s the “standard” problem people complain about. Have Sena linked to Garmin. iPhone linked to Garmin. The media player comes up and shows me albums. When I try to play something it plays 5-10 seconds and then skips to another song, just keeps repeating this. This is in shuffle mode.

Are there secrets? Special pairing modes? Do I have to pair phone to Sena?

    I’ve updated to 4.9.

This has been resolved for me. Cleared all pairings. Paired phone to Nav. Also paired phone to Sena. Paired Nav to Sena as secondary pairing. See Sena manual 4.3.2. Media player works fine. Got volume turned up too. Phone volume must be turned up.
Now trying to learn all the Sena commands.

Did the latest update fix the streaming music issue? It is a feature I want, but not going to replace my fully functional Nav V if the thing is still buggy and not dependable.

My Nav VI media player now works as designed. I can play music from my iPhone through my Sena 30K. The functionality is very basic, but it works. Play, pause, forward, reverse work. It plays playlists ok. Shows album artwork. Display is a little better than the V. Works reliably, so far. :D

The 4.90 update made a big difference and I took the time to read the manual with Sena 30K and did the pairing correctly.

    Hey guys,

I am pulling my hair out with my Sena 30K, Navigator VI and iPhone X trying to get it to work properly so that I can listen to music, take a phone call and hear directions. I had it working, including sending traffic and Weather to the navigator then tried something different and of course now it doesnt work and I cant remember what the setting to get it all working. Any help would be much appreciated

Wish I had a secret that would help. I don’t. See my post 52 above. What do you mean by tried something different? Read the Sena manual section 4.
Pair phone to Nav. Pair phone to Sena section 4.1. Secondary pair Sena to Nav section 4.5.3.

    Best I’ve got.

    Clear all parings first.

Make sure you’re up to date on all devices.

Thanks. I think I got this working. I paired the SENA to the Nav using the normal phone pairing process of the Sena then The phone to the Sena using the second phone paring (section 4.2) then paired the phone with the Navigator. I can use the navigator to control my music and make phone calls. Also an added bonus as I can also use Siri when I hit the phone button on the Sena and use voice commands to dial phone numbers or play music. The GPS will interupt music and play the turn instructions from the GPS.

What I need to test is how well the intercom function works with other Senas when I am riding. That seems to be the last bit of functionality I need to work.

It wasnt easy and I am not sure how reliable this set up is as it took a lot of trial and error. I am not going to mess with it.

^^ great. Glad it’s working. You mean phone to Sena using 4.2.

The 30K intercom, mesh is the best part of the new unit. When used with other 30 users the intercom is great. Several of us have 30s now. No need to constantly re-pair. Very little noise when not talking. Clear comm.

We use mesh, public mode. Everyone just shows up when they turn the unit on.

The old Bluetooth still works, but if you have a Bluetooth rider, just have them pair with one mesh user. You’ll get wind noise from the Bluetooth user.

Yes phone to Sena. I edited to make sure it was clear

Thanks. Looking forward to getting the mesh functionality to use

How have you found the battery life using mesh

The jury is still out on battery life. On one ride it died before the end of day, maybe 6 hours. But, I hand 3 others on mesh and 2 connected via Bluetooth. On another ride had only 5 mesh only users and lasted 8 hours.

I’ve started carrying a separate cell phone charger and use it at lunch.
