So excited about this. Great to be heading out and back on the big blue one. I have it apart as I changed the rear tire and am changing the rear wheel bearings tomorrow as well as doing an oil change. This will be the first time riding it since I got it back from Argentina.

Excellent, except it should be in a museum in MN and you should be departing on a new gift. :D

Wonderful ride report, thank you. What ever happened to the dude on the Vulcan 750? Did you ever find out what ticked him off?

I don't know, he was a strange one. i did e mail him and he told me that he stopped to eat in Costa Rica somewhere and a bus hit his parked bike, destroyed the front of it. Pura vida.

After following a large part of your great adventure and amazed every time at what you had accomplished on that old salvaged Victory motorcycle, it was truly a pleasure meeting you Michel this weekend at the Ontario Horizons Unlimited meeting. Many good laughs and stories were shared amongst many liked minded people but yours were by far the best. I can’t thank you enough for making this past weekend a great one with some absolute hilarious stories of what you went through.

Wishing you many safe travels and may your dreams come true.

simply, fantasitc, trip of many lifetimes that we all wish we could make. Does Polaris even know what you achieved with an old Victory? Seems so much like the fantastic traveler stories of the 20's that had company sponsors and assistance to achieve their lofty stories. You did this mostly alone and Polaris should award you for the marketing proof your trip proved of the V92.

Makes me think of shopping craigslist for that occasional low priced Victory.

Wow, I was looking to see if any interesting new ride reports were up and I was shocked to be on the front page again.

I still haven't heard from Polaris. I'm waiting for them to offer me sponsorship to ride around the world. It may be a while. Glad you all enjoyed it and I hope it inspires some to take offbeat bikes on these trips.

Hey Vicmitch, I just stumbled across this RR and read it all in one go today - thought I'd give it a kick up to the front again. I'm at a loss for a response.... "amazing" or "epic" doesn't come close.
We met at the very wet HU Maritimes in 2014 - guess you never bothered with the Versys 1000 idea. Thanks for several hours of entertainment today.

Thanks so much fastredbike. So glad you enjoyed my tale. That was some event in Nova Scotia. I have been to 2 HU events since but that was something special. The hurricane, the camaraderie, and the intimacy of the settting was never equaled.

What an excellent read... Thanks for sharing your adventure, Mitch! I'm a wannabe Victory owner, despite their recent demise and your RR was pretty much a solid endorsement of the brand. Your wit & insight are exceptional. Hope to cross paths with you some day down the road!
