Looks like a rear camera would be handy to keep an eye on your investment
Loving this thread. I can see you are going to cost me some money.
Ladies and Gentlemen this thread will go on a one week break due to work commitments.
You see, I was offered a job I could not refuse. It will involve 7 days straight of hard work... dedication... grit and stamina. It involves travel and I must jump on a plane today.
For the next week I will be the Sweep Rider for North Queensland Trail Bike Adventures!
Catch you all in a week.
So, you are an asshole then. Prick.
I blame troy
This thread is very confusing...
Considering that you built this two years ago, and you constantly write in past tense, why couldn't you just upload all the pictures in one go... It is a finish project, isn't it?
I am working on a project to carry my bike and camp long term, not the rugged off road style but will have the bike for that but its going to be my home.
Long wheel base high roof Benz Sprinter that had been a work truck but had a new motor fitted and was cheap, 2011 model for 8 grand so i will have that.
Stripped it out, fixed the engine faults and picked up some timber from a reno on a 100 year old house, out with the thicknesser and were away.
took a while to work out the slides and build some bering runners but the bed is working out, will raise with electric motors and allow me to park the bike under, a modified BMW R100R Mystic modified for a little more off road.
Bed lowers to about and inch above the bike so there is no need to take the bike out for overnight stops.
Bike will fit under the bed with the handlebars just in front of the bed when its in this position.
There is now a couch with storage under between the two bed rails now and more kitchen cupboards, built these from old machinery packing crates.
needed a grab handle to get in and out so used what i could find.
The kids are already lining up talking about music festivals and weekends up the beach surfing, think i am going to have to sneak away under the cover of darkness.
Because he's "creating" a build thread. It's interesting that way.
What sort of mileage are you getting from the Canter Sean?. Can you drive it with a car licence?
Yes, it's "down graded" to 4490kg so you only need a car license.
Around 19L per 100Ks is normal, so 1, 000Ks from the 200L tank.
And thanks for answering that.
It's exactly why.... just wanted to make sure that most people understand that.
Agh of course, silly me. Nice build by the way. Keep it up. I've lost count of the amount of camper builds I've watched on Youtube. Might be time to pull my finger out.
I'm just curious as to why you g or it downgraded. Is it just for the car licence or are there other advantages?
Anyone who I'm traveling with that has a car license can drive it.
Easier and less hassles for registration checks/inspections.
Cheaper to insure and register.
Don't have to stop at any RMS weigh stations.
No log books (but I'm not sure what weight they start at)
Be careful as there are three stations north of Sydney to the border that are 4.5gvm all the rest are 8gvm
Log books are 12t
Ok... now I'm on the same page...
Yes, I've seen them, but luckily I'm 4.490GVM.
Oh yeah... carry on
Who were you talking to? Yourself?
