I'm looking to do a trip west and make a loop based upon the COBDR & UTBDR.

How late in the year can you go before really pushing your luck with snow in CO?

Likewise, how early can you go through UT w/o baking?

Colorado is the new California! Year round riding starting in 2018. But absent the effects of the now defunct global warming late Sept. is probably a safe bet. Equally nice here in Utah.

Ride the COBDR first of course.
Where are you going to base / start the loop?

You will be fine until it snows.

I try to get the Utah riding out of the way before Memorial Day. Or after Labor Day.
Westfest is in the middle of September this year....

Thanks guys - I figured anything past mid to late Sep would pushing luck.

Not sure. As you you said, somewhere that will allow doing CO first.

Shhhh...But the Westfest 2018 rally is gonna be Sept 13-16 in Ouray, CO(details to be released officially this coming week) ...Kinda the perfect place to base for both BDR's...Just sayin! :jkam:beer

As for weather...I rode SW CO to Moab and back in late October this past Fall (2017) I've ridden in UT as late as Thanksgiving week in the past 3 years.
CO mountains are pretty safe till late Sept. these days.

Post in the COBDR thread for Norm - nwcolorider in Craig, CO. He host people all the time. He trades parking spot for beer.

Usually mid September is glorious in the high country most years.
