Rains a'comin' on Monday.
It is still moving around.
this is long exposure so it is not what the naked eye would see. the purple in the middle is probably the trees crowning again.
It's raining burnt leaves, ash, charcoal and pine needles. #EagleCreekFire #ColumbiaGorge #HoodRiver

New level 1 evac notices went out today. Looks like AJ and myself are included within the zone. Anyone have any shopping cart I could borrow?
Hope the rains get there before you guys go up a level!
They started a major back burn about an hour ago and I think that's why they put more area under zone 1.

UPDATE: Hood River County Evacuation Updates—September 14th, 2017
HOOD RIVER, Ore. - After careful consideration by fire incident commanders and the Hood River County Sheriff's Office, the following changes are being made to Evacuation Levels:
Zones A5 and A6 are being placed on Level Two evacuation notices.
- Adding in the current Level Two zone of A4b, the new boundaries for Level Two will be defined as follows: The northern boundary will be the Columbia River, and the southern boundary will be the south end of Collins Road in Dee. The eastern boundary runs south from 430 Country Club and follows Country Club down to Reed Road, then runs overland due south to Hwy. 281, continuing along 281 to milepost 12.5, then following the Middle Fork of the Hood River until it comes parallel with the south end of Collins Road. The western boundary includes the Kinglsey Reservoir area.
Sending positive thoughts that way for enough rain to knock down some of the fires.
Everyone please stay safe.

I-84 westbound opened a few hours ago.
I hope the rain gets here in time and quenches more fires than the associated lightning starts.
If any of you over there need anything I have a truck, a spare room, parking. Just let me know.
Everyone wash your car today maybe that will help..
Hood river friends: Jeff, Dan, Tony, Craig, if you need help...if you have to evac, i have a van & 16' trailer i could bring to help...anytime!!
If you don't have my cell #, get it from Jeff.
My wife is having hers detailed even as we type.
Only thing I need to worry about taking is my wife and her medical supplies. But it won't come to that. Maybe get to a level 2 in the next few days but this cooler weather is going to help.
Noticed this morning that the fire is on the north flanks of Defiance, Honestly never thought I would see that. It's a race now, fire verses rain.
