Having my fill of sport bikes and cruisers for the year, I gathered up the crew, Makman and Crashman, and headed for some dirt that Not2Fast had introduced me to a few weeks back. I don't know who that guy on the cruiser was, but he was welcome to join us.

Seems we lost the cruiser guy when we turned before we hit the dirt. Crashman1400.

    Makman.

I don't know where they were going, but I hope it was to a fire and not a biker accident.

We stopped for gas and Makman had to split off. I had some notes for where to go, that we actually followed for a while. I thought I had taken more pictures, but I guess I was busy riding. Crashman1400 and I got on this great dirt road through Swatara State Park. We came across this cool old bridge, which was closed to all motorized vehicles of course. Here's Crashman making a monkey out of himself.

It's hard to make out, but the sign says that the bridge was constructed in 1878.

Goldmine Road, it's got to be good, right? YES!

So, we're riding along, according to the "PLAN", when we pass something resembling a dirt road, and then another. I pull over and ask Crashman what he thinks. "Let's check it out!" Check it out we did! In fact, we spent much of the rest of our day back there. I just got another new camera (that's a different story) and haven't figured out the best "action" setting yet, so I got some blurry pictures, but they're still worth looking at.

I talked Crashman into going up this knarly looking hill. Little did we know that the trail just looped right back down to the one that we had been on.

Since had I gone first, I had to loop around again to get my picture taken. I managed to get stuck while hamming it up, doh.

Honest, it was a nasty little downhill.

This was a big, long, supernasty, downhill. We went the other way, besides, I prefer going up.

More shots of us. It doesn't look like a nasty uphill, but it sure was.

We managed to find many dead end trails. This was one of them.

Rocky uphills don't bother Crashman. Bring it on!

    More trail pictures.

It had to happen. I'm just glad it wasn't me.

This trail was disappearing, and after a some investigation, we found that it did indeed disappear. We had a real hard time getting my bike turned around. I'm not sure what I would have done if I were alone.

It's time for a little goofing off. I couldn't talk Crashman into following me down this little hill.

We did some more exploring and finding dead ends. It was hot, we were getting tired, and we decided to call it a day. Last shot.

Nightstalker, what a ride!!! :super Thanks for the great time and looking forward to getting to do it again here in a couple of weeks. One question, how come the action shots of me that you took were blurry, but the one's that I took of you came out clear??? :huh Must be the camera operator..... :ksteve

You definitely got me to return the favor from having to haul me out of the forrest last time. Hauling the big KTM backwards out of that one trail was a workout and a half. These bikes need to have reverse! :D

Those trails look like something I'd have never handled. Those rocks definitely looked beastly. I had a boring slab ride home from the fuel stop. I figured you guys would have a better time on the trails without the rookie. At least there was no damage to the Tiger this time around. :lol3

I snag one little oil line and I'll never get to live it down. My makeshift license plate sumpguard did the trick the entire day! I'm selling the kit over the internet for $89.95! :lol3 Consists of a license plate, two 1/4 20 screws, two wire-ties, and it fits almost any make or model!!!!! :nod Order yours today!!!!!! :thumb

Not hijacking....just curious. - Crashman... curious about the bars you have on your tiger? Trying to figure out if I'm going to just do risers or replace them all together...

Looks like a great time. Those downhills covered in leaves can be treacherous...

JP - I have the stock bars. I've thought about going with something more industrial with a cross brace, but the bike has been on it's side twice and no harm done, so I'm going to keep them. The positioning is fine, a little short when your standing up, but I can suffer because they're jsut right when I'm sitting down for the long, over-the-road haul.
