I posted a question sometime back regarding the stability of the F800GSA. I received numerous pieces of advice, which extremely helpful in resolving my dilemma.

Yesterday, the dilemma was resolved. I traded the XR for the 800 GSA.

After a 30-45 min on the intetstate, a quick side trip through the gravel roads, and home on by way of paved roads, I confirmed my decision.

I wanted to take a moment to say thanks for the input, regardless of where you stood on the idea, it helped to ensure i considered all aspects of the switch.

Made it to Tuk on June 16. Did the Dalton a few years ago and I thought that the Dempster was a terribly road, it change all the time, every single hour. I was not the first one in Tuk, but I am hoping to be the first one on a F800GSA. The road was really bad at the Yukon/NWT border on the way back south.

Quite a cool temperature, 13°C instead of 28°C in the city..
    Do you notice something unusual?

I really wanted a white one too but they were super scarce, I wound up with go fast red instead!

Same here with scarcity. I test rode a 2017 gray one to make sure of the choice, then located one at a dealership two states away. Haggled a great price, wired the money and added $500 to have it shipped to my doorstep. Very happy with the decision. Not as fast as red, I know, but fast enough.

    My F700GS “street” conversion.
    Hornig engine spoiler
    Hornig rear tire Hugger
    Front mudguard painted to match
    TT handlebar risers
    TT 16T front sprocket
    Akrapovic exhaust
    LED headlight
    BMW high tinted screen

This is my city ride, no trails or travels on this one. I tried to give it a more “street bike” appearance hehe, much better than a scooter!
