Seems about 5k high to me. Sure it's well set up with auto wheels. Almost gloss over the fact that it a 15 year old tug with 138,000 miles. Is a ural tub, stoker wheels, matching yellow paint and csm subframe worth $11,000?

    Who knows ?
Buy any tug you want new old whatever get a Sidecar form Freedom,DMC, Hannigan, Champion whomever you like buy 3 automotive wheels and tires and trail reduction plus change the final drive to get a lower one, have it professionally mounted for 11K extremely fair .
Your a photographer I'm a curmudgeon people pay you for your eye and you knowledge of light and your ability to capture or create a moment in time !
As far as the age and mileage the 11/50 series of BMW is still the best all around tug for at adv sidecar rig( the only shaftdriven BMW you can adjust gearing on economically) unless your shopping with your ego !
He probably won't get 13.5 but it's a place to start if you called Claude he'd want 16 for it Jay was building GS liquid cools and trying to get 40-50 K for them ! What is the market value ? Who knows ?
DRONE,rgswwa, Twintwin,Stroker what's the cost to build a sidecar rig even out of used bits ?

It's not cheap or simple to mount a sidecar properly. Buying the motorcycle is easy, buying a sidecar is also pretty easy, mounting a sidecar properly,... not so much. If you can't do the work yourself, it can and will get quite expensive.

If you get one properly rebuilt by someone who has the correct tools and knowledge to measure and shim it properly it will run you about $600, and you won't have a problem with it again.
Most dealers do not have the tools or technicians with sufficient knowledge to do the job, and will charge you more!

I can't speak directly to the GS question, but in 2012 I purchased a used Hannigan car for $3500, and spent $1800 with Hannigan to install it, including their trail reducer. Another $2500 or so for upgrades, suspension being the most.

On the other hand, a new URAL sells for $18+ with taxes and title..... which is the better buy? Which has better resale value in three years and riding 10,000 miles?

If either one sounds like a good deal you've been into DRONE's stash.

Yep - what @Pokie said. A bit older version of the one I just put on my friends BMW. Just more beat up, but still a bargain at that price. They are stout little chairs.
