I would like to add a set of fork guards to my 17 Scorpa Factory with Tech Forks. There are a number of guys who run the ones from Stu at Jacks Cycle which look nice. I also see that Jitsie makes one that incorporates a molded bottom to cover up the bottom of the fork as well.

Any opinions on either of these?

The Jitsie's are crap. They're made of paper thin plastic, and the extra molding just gets in the way of things like taking off the front wheel. Get Stu's.

Also, remember for best results a wrap of tape (I like gorilla tape) around the lower sanction before applying the zip tie's will help them hold in place without turning when taking a hit. Otherwise you can get a slight spin on them and still get a scratch or chip in the upper sanction.

I had Jitsie on my Gas Gas and bought the same style as Stu sells, from the Tryals Shop for my Scorpa.
    Jitsie ones are junk!

Have had both. Stu's are tough!

Beat the hell out of the last set of Jitses. Gashes and mashes everywhere. The bottom 3" of one side finally broke off. But heck, they lasted through a lot of events.

The most critical thing I found was to wrap electrical tape at the top of the fork sliders, under the top zip tie, so the protectors don't rotate in a crash and expose the stanchions to that next rock.

Thanks guys. I ordered a set from Stu. Hopefully they arrive before the next event, which will be a sharp rocky one.

For the cheepscapes out there, I used some scrap 2" abs drain pipe. Half with table saw, some filing, use a piece of inner tube for a lower spacer & install with zip ties. Pretty much free. IMG_20180707_104641254.jpg
