A seal? That black thing in the middle of the water? Looks more like a body in a black plastic bag. Remember, that's Staten Island in the background! :imaposer

    Lol!
No its a seal and it was alive too.
And back on the Morris Canal article that was posted by Land Marker and in particular the part mentioning those cables that pulled the boats up the plane.
By me near Waterloo Village in the woods, those cables are lying under the leaves just like as if they were left there recently. You can walk back there and pick them up.
    That canal really amazes me.

How about a salt on the roads report from the Joisey boys. Might want to take a ride tomorrow afternoon, but don't like salt.

Do they drop a lot of salt around Chatsworth? :-)

Hey Doc... Ski Report from Blue.. 7" of natural at my house / Base from Sat. They ran the guns the entire time and added another solid 6-10" to the base!

Can't make Thursday's for awhile.. Dojo changed their times so my time to play hookie shifts my workout days and my play days.

Think they will be open during the week now? I might go Thursday or Friday, if anyone else is interested.

    Jeff, thanks for the update!

Bunch of cold nights. Snow tonight. 30 degrees tomorrow. Blue is open at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow.
I'll be at the upper lodge at 8:30 to get my season pass and do a few runs if anyone else is interested in joining me.
I'll be upstairs by the window facing the slopes in front of food service.
    Be there or be square!

    It's SKI SEASON AGAIN!

1st hooky ski report of the year (Blue Mountain, Thursday, December 13):
Perfect weather (25 degrees, no wind, brilliant sunshine)
Perfect conditions (4 inches of new snow on two feet of man-made)
    No crowds (probably 20 people)
Free skiing (if you are old enough!)
    Priceless!

NOTE: The Valley Lodge will be open tomorrow, Friday the 14th along with top-to-bottom skiing by way of the high-speed quads.
I'll be there by about 11. Have to do a little work 1st before going up.

So one thing that has been bugging me about the new ride, is the color of the rear sets. Engine, swingarm and frame are all black. I think they would look awesome in black as well.

I used a guy many years back to powder coat some silver rearsets, for my street fighter project bike I built in 2009. Damn if I can find any information about who I used.

So, anyone have a local NJ guy that they use and know does good work. I am interested in a proper job, with sand blasting first, and then a nice satin black powder coating job. Interested in doing both side rear sets, controls( shift and brake foot leves) and that funky exhaust cap thing as well.

    Any recommendations??

I will probably be going up on Monday, if anyone is interested.

Forgot to mention that I met a NJ celebrity on the chairlift at Blue on Thursday!
Jim Rohr, the owner of the Bagel Street Grill in Plainsboro. Guy Fieri featured him on his "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" last year!

You know that winter has arrived when you get the snow sticks up, and the battery tenders connected!

There are two that I know of. One is in Dover off of Blackwell Street in the same building as a bike shop called Custom Bike Works. Have not had anything done there but heard they do nice work.
The other is on 206 in Andover, a shop called Full Moon Cycles. Powder coating is all done in house. Their work that I have seen is very nice. I'm going to have them coat a frame for me in a few weeks.

I had my Harley frame powdercoated in Dover and they were very professional. The finish was very nice and it has been very durable. I would say it still looks good on a well ridden softtail.

My brother gets a fair amount of powder coating done for his business at a place in Morristown, right next to Morris Magneto.

Powder coating in dover is the place right next to the custom Harley shop off Blackwell.
That's where I had to have stuff powder coated in a bronze color used at memorial Sloan Kettering

Here's an interesting motorcycle glove "difficulty"....
Was turned away by security at the Eagles-Giants game because of my Klim waterproof gloves:
Two different security "consultants" were brought over, and they decided that I could be a terrorist who might attack the 50,000 people at Met Life with my glove-covered fists (because of the metal on the knuckles). I could bring in my 5 lb. binoculars, but couldn't wear the gloves because they could be used as weapons! Had to walk a mile back to my car to ditch them.
Didn't get mad, though, because I was glad the security was tight for the game. The glove decision was silly, though, don'tcha think?

    perfect corn snow
    empty
and the BMBLT was spectacular, as usual.

Anyone want to play hooky on Friday? Will be doing it again. 8:00 at the Valley Lodge. Front by the right window.
