$650ish is retail price. You can sometimes find a used unit on ebay or other salvage dealers Its a small device with a single electrical connector. You install it and plug it in, then take to a dealer to update your firmware. My dealer charged $50 for the activation code plus 30 min labor to update the firmware on my bike.

Just ordered the GSAP part online. Didn't come with any electric cable to plug it. Is this plug already present on the bike somewhere? Plan is to install the hardware and have the code installed by the dealer.

Just had done at the dealer yesterday, install was $105, mostly relearning all bike variables (i.e. throttle position). Rode it home in the driving rain, so not a great test, but downshifts (my reason) with auto blip were crisp and easy while braking. Seems very smooth except 1-2 and 2-1, smoother than my shifting for sure.

I’ve found for 1-2/2-1 using lower RPM’s helps smooth it out.
