    So, the mill in my '86 has seen better days and the clutch/alternator issues was coming back more often than I cared about living with.
    Come end of riding season '17 I got a '99 engine from eBay, time to go 5-speed!

    ...and after a start-up and oil change it stood like this to after christmess, me having way to much work going on at work with a 9t project, but since that one now is gone for an custom exhaust I got time again for the Sportster and went on to mount the forks.
    I expected a lot of work doing this, imaging my surprise when it bolted straight on :D:clap

    I went back to use an old FCR carb I got laying around, but the home made bracket for it was so ugly.
    After some hours fighing a piece of titanium, I got this...

    I'm going to cut a groove in the intake neck of the carb to fit a lock-ring, that way when I screw down the bracket to the heads, the carb gets pushed towards the manifoild
