Well I know you're alive because you've just bought a new shock for the bike.

But isn't it time to finish the story.

    Please

Haha. I'll do that. It's in my calendar

    On the shock thing.
I see you swapped the cartridges out some time ago, but I'm taking it you've used the standard/unmodified shock up until now ??

It's crazy how expensive that hydraulic preload is on the 641 eh.

Yeah still running the stock shock.. 85ish thousand kms on it.. I think it's sitting lower in the back.. dunno if the shocks shagged or the bolts bent..

    Traxxion ak-40s in the forks..

Yeah ordered a wilbers 641 without hydraulic preload.. saves about $350 from memory and removes a hose and canister from my list of things that can fail :jack

Should be here in about 2 weeks now I guess.. got a truckload of work to get thru in the next 2 weeks, but all going well, I'll punch thru that, get ride report up to date :imaposer Get shock in, replace chain n sprockets, change me oil n filters and hit the road around the 25th ish of Feb :rayof

Tis looking like a good riding year :beer

Gone - What an amazing portrait! Thank you so much for sharing your intimate photo's - Wow , that looks like so much fun . You're photo's came out so good and you take really good photos by the way . I pray that i get to do a portion of what you've done in these photo's, it looked like you were on a trip alone for the first part did you have a riding partner?

Wow this has been one epic read. Ploughed through the whole thing over the last two weeks.
Been great to follow and pretty envious of the amount of track etc you have to ride in Australia. Really makes me wish I'd followed up on moving there when I was younger. Keep up the reports and have fun.

I was hoping for more than a test run. Your adventures are legendary and I'm sure I'm one of a crowd of many just waiting for the next edition.

How was the ride with the new shock?

I just put Ricor valves and heavier Progressive springs in the forks of my F700GS. The difference is quite amazing. Only problem is that I can now feel how bad the shock is :(
But I may have to go with just a respring on the stock shock for the time being. $250 against $1400 for the Wilburs shock.

    Enjoy your new ride :)
