As NDR is running up the trail prior to your group, we'll be sure to take some pics and look for any closures/route arounds etc. Meeting at Parker's in Mason Friday at 9 a.m. to start our tour.

Thanks Adam. The River Edge Inn / Bear Tavern in Colebrook as of this morning has available rooms with two double beds. I went ahead and reserved 2 rooms antisipating that some of us will want to stay there. Cancellation is 48 hours in advance so I need to know who would like to stay there by 9/28. The room cost is $83 each but the cost can be split. An additional cot for a third person can be added to the room for an additional $10.

Need some '411' gang - one of our NDR members recently ran the route and ran into a locked gate near Long Pond in Benton and found it gated - is this a gate folks get around etc? Please advise asap as we leave later today.

Long Pond Road got severely damaged during the July 1st thunder storm. The National Forest Service has closed the road until further notice. I have heard rumors that it may not reopen until next year. Updates are posted here:

So the road is closed? I hate adding more slab into the mix.

What a great route! Nice work, much appreciated. I only had time to do the middle section Warren up to Dummer (great name) and that is mostly paved now. Some gravel. Lots of hard pack. Only 1 little actual jeep trail for a few miles.
As of September the Long Pond road at Benton is still closed & locked gate at both ends (washed out) that locals say "even horses have difficulty crossing", but a local detour is short and just as direct.

from what I've heard it's been closed all season due to washouts, etc.

the route around looks to have a bit of dirt though

Take rte 25 to Flat Iron Road(dirt) to Lime Kiln Rd(dirt) and then you will hook back into the route. Pretty easy detour that adds very little pavement
