I'm still hoping to be at York at 7:00 but I need to get some issues worked out with my motorcycle first. Hopefully I can sort things out after work before I need to leave. D:

Never been on the York ride. Is it bigger bike friendly? As in Vstrom? Or should I bring the KLR?

Thanks for the ride, everyone. I stayed up late hoping to see the wee fairies dancing around my fire, but, alas, no such luck. Great night and camp and the light on rocks in the canyon coming down where fantastic. IMG_20160618_082041182.jpg

Yea, I should have thought twice before bidding. I'll double check the trains, but I think those stop in Ohio or Penn.

Ok new idea, I'm thinking if someone in Helena can get this thing roadworthy for me a fly and ride might be a great idea. Jellystone isn't far south and I would love to see Yogi. If I time it right maybe Sturgis could be a stopover point, even though it's not really my cup of tea.

Any inmates able and willing to take a look at a 95 350 Rotax powered Harley for me and see if it's an easy fix to get roadworthy? Bike is in Ikea form as we speak but they are fairly simple machines.

Why was it taken apart in the first place? Parts availability? Riding a lower power 350 single cross country could be a challenge. Altho I have ridden a clapped out 400 yamaha to illinois and back.

I have some swiss fatigues you could wear.

Guy says the previous owner wanted to paint the frame and clean it up, it's got some surface rust. But the bike seems to be more or less in one piece, the extras are the racks and panniers that are not attached.

It's a Rotax 350, it probably just needs an oil change, a new spark plug and a battery.

Parts are easy, lots of parts interchange with the BMW singles and for spares like belts there is Ron Woods racing which does lots of Rotax stuff.

Thanks for the reply cwegga, I did find Bozeman-uprising after I posted here. Time seams to be a restraint on my riding also.

The link below shows the dates of "The Art of the Motorcycle" exhibit at the Holter Museum of Art in Helena. Ride-in and BBQ is August 27th. Please pass on the info to other riders. This should be a high profile regional event, so invite people from out of state and on other forums.

riders from the Best of the Montana 1000 will be at the Vigilante CG Friday evening. They have been riding back roads since Saturday and might share stories for cold beverages.

Great. I'm sorry I had to leave town and could not come out to see you. Hope you liked my handwritten "ADV riders" sign and that some of the locals came out to see you. Pat

Just a reminder to all that The Art of the Motorcycle opens with a reception this Friday August 5 at 5:30 at the Holter Museum of Art. Lat's see a big turnout to see some great bikes at this exhibition and to support motorcycles and show folks that art extends to these beautiful machines. ZZO posed the web site above. See you there!!

Made a nice loop from Belgrade, Townsend, Canyon Ferry, York, and Helena on Monday, I'd like to spend more time up there. York Bar looks fun, but wasn't open yet.
