My "visibility enhancements": Yellow reflective tape various spots on the bike. A yellow Pelican case on the rear rack. Yellow drybag on the front rack. I wear either a yellow street helmet or a white DS helmet. Have a LED "flasher" brake light.

I don't tend to wear hi-viz unless needed (road race marshalling on open roads typically - I don't want to appear to be a "Polite" rider day to day - UK people will know what I mean), but the rear of my ST1300 is marked up in line with UK Chapter 8 ECE 104 regulations and with R65 compliant amber strobes as I can be stationary in odd locations during a race.

The yellow is engineering grade fluorescent, the red is 3M diamond grade retroflective - so in daylight you'll see the yellow best, in the dark or poor weather you see the red. I bought a set of ready-cut chevron stickers from ebay where the red was also just engineering grade, then cut and stuck 3M red on top using the sticker as a template. A top tip in the UK is that it is normally only the emergency services that have diamond grade yellow, so when you come up behind something with chevrons in the dark, if the yellow doesn't light up in your headlights it isn't police :-) There is an oddity in the regulations where retroflective yellow pointing backwards (actually anything other than red, or amber for indicators) may not be legal for anything other than the blue light crowd.

The antenna/strobe bracket has red diamond grade, as does the inset in the top box below the Pan European badge where the catch rubs when you open it. That is sacrificial - I can replace that narrow strip every so often to keep it looking cosmetically OK, whereas the paint underneath was getting scuffed. The reflector above the number plate is just the stock UK legal one; despite being brighter, having a bike slathered in red diamond grade isn't OK for UK road regulations - you need a proper reflector or it won't pass the MOT inspection, even if that reflector is only the size of a US quarter (most test centres have a bag of those for £1 each, and will stick them on your numberplate rather than fail you).
