Going on a job site. 40 minutes on freeway. I wouldn't worry if I had the weight of the ladder equally on the center of the side case.. but almost 70 percent of the weight is on the back. Should I call my state farm agent 20180812_202615.jpg

    Are you seriously asking?

The subframe on the KTMs are not really built to carry that much force. Real test will be the torque moment if you go over a big bump.

FYI, I broke the subframe on my 950 from just one overloaded top case.

    Good luck, though!

The weight I'm not worried about . It's the torque. I could pull out the college textbooks. Never used these touratech cases. Anyone had them break off from heavy abuse . I had a BMW gs once that would eject an unloaded case if you hit the washboards wrong .

Seriously though, whats the ladder weigh? 15 pounds? Its more leverage on the subframe but I doubt its putting more stress on it than a passenger plus bags. I've seen worse things strapped to a bike. :rofl

It’d probably be a safer distribution of weight if you wore the ladder.

Goodness that is a lot of trust to put into those straps, panniers, mounts, etc.
And barring no unexpected bumps, potholes, people pulling in front of you, animals running under the tire, unexpected need to make a maneuver... A shift of momentum that will put serious torque on the mounts.

If that comes loose or shifts while driving... Like yikes Scoob!
