That's a beauty! I have owned one 240 wagon (diesel) and one 145 wagon (god I miss that one!), as well as a GLT 244, 740 turbo, and most other Volvo models...I do believe there is a 240 turbo wagon in my future. But I have to find a '59 Impala wagon for my girlfriend first!
I did not know…
Ahh, a real Mini!
Loved those things.
Close, but no cigar. The P1800ES is still a car for which I lust. Volvo broke the mold when they discontinued it.
I made do, back in the day, with my personalized '72 510 wagon. That's one I wish I had never let go.
just saying cuz the all glass hatch.....I'd say the inspiration is apparent.
Personally, I thought Toyota did a good job with copying the P1800ES mold with the '76 - '79 Corolla SR5 liftback. I went through 3 of them and would buy another in a heartbeat if I could find one that wasn't rusted away. Also, having worked in a Volvo dealership back in the 70's, I'll admit to having lusted for a P1800ES. The interiors were as nice as the exterior.
I actually traded my '72 510 wagon on a '78 Corolla SR5 Liftback. I enjoyed that car as well but sold it to my pending ex-wife for $1 which was about all it was worth after she drove it (into the ground) during the year we were separated. It was a most useful design and I bemoan the fact that no one produces a very similar vehicle now, not even the Volvo coupe. If I were to find either a 510 wagon or a Corolla SR5 Liftback in clean (enough) condition, I would jump on it in a heartbeat.
This car picture simply makes me smile when I see it.
I had a couple of Fiat 124 wagons - neat little cars
PLEASE tell me this is real!
Yeah, wouldn't that that be a beauty. I can't tell if it's real but I hope so. That looks like it could be a Hornet Sportabout tailgate
This new Alpha Romeo looks nice.
