I got the Rome Court House Blues today!
Resting heroes from another era.
Very tragic story. To live thru the hell of the Civil War and then this.
very nice, any time i'm in the area i have to stop there.
Is the bridge in Alton open?
It was a week ago when I was through there.
I haven't figured out where this tag is yet.
I grew up in Ohio, but moved to IN in 1992. Several years ago, I learned my great, great, (great?) grandfather, immigrated from Belgium, fought in the Civil War and settled in Spencer Co. where he was a stonecutter. Evidently he worked with monks on stones for the St. Meinrad Abby and the limestone house at Celina Lake. He also helped cut a stone 'bee hive' oven that's been moved to the living museum in Spencer County. - it's a small world - I had been to Celina lake and Hoosier NF several times before finding out about my personal connection to the area.
"These masons, the George brothers, also built the stone church in Leopold and the second church of the Abbey at St. Meinrad."
I visited here before they had the oven operational. I need to get back.
Indiana Civil War Monuments and Markers
Hop Cemetery just north of Campbellsburg, IN on White River Rd. Bonus points if you get the Brewer headstones (my relatives) in the shot! This cemetery was named for the fields of hops that grew here many moons ago.

Aww hell, I was just there a couple weeks ago! (but this looks like an awesome excuse to go revisit) Fun fact: I proposed to my now ex-girlfriend that day.
I call her my "fiance" now, so it's a pretty nice change.
And as close as I could get due to the black powder shoot this weekend.
New tag. Bringing it north for the central and northern riders.
Self explanatory I believe.
Guess I was at the other end, does that still count?
If so, here is a new tag:
Neat---figured out location of signs but don't know when i will get up there to Tag them. Someone from central Indiana will have a better chance.
Did someone call for me...? This is the farthest north its been in a long time.
Get it quick. I know where it's at and have been waiting on the weather and schedule to line up.
