Somewhere in either a thread or in On the Pegs magazine there was a kettlebell training routine posted. I've spend far too long trying to retrace my steps and I am hoping someone kept a link or knows which month in OtP magazine the routine was in.

I'm looking for the routine but also the recommendation on which weights to get. As I recall there were three sizes I need to buy... I have $200 in employer sponsored fitness bucks to use and I think this is what I want to get! How awesome of them to buy these for me.

    I have a 20 a 35 and a 52. The 52 will kill you so somewhere around 45. I use the 20 to warm up.

The article was in "On the Pegs." I think the auhors handle was lotsof5s. I last saw him here for last years pre Trials Training Days discussion. He taught PE training at last years TTDs. There are youtube videos for kettlebell use.

I just discovered the fun of kettlebells a few weeks ago. I do light weight with lots of reps to get in a good cardio, but I'm still rehabbing my right shoulder/upper arm from a few months ago. If done right it can be a real ass kicker. For routines I just go to the innerwebs for ideas. I'll use some of them or make up my own.

Yes I have been looking through the On The Pegs magazines and can't find it. I was hoping a quick question and someone would remember. I'll go back to re-reading each episode to see if I can find it.

I did a search and also came up with the discussion on the pre- TTD discussion.

Sounds like a great workout to be had regardless of the routine. Thanks all.

Is the 45 age or number of repetitions?

The article says to send you an email for a link to a good video of kettlebell form. Is it on YouTube?

It seems that good form is very critical, I've read on reddit.com/r/kettlebell they even do a form check where you post a video of yourself and they critique it. I checked out the videos that Lineaway linked and that is helpful to get me started!

Kettlebells arrive sometime next week. I feel sorry for the UPS or USPS guy.

    Proper form is key.

Do your research. Make sure you arent just copying some idiot on youtube who doesnt really know what they are doing.
