Well that's good to hear indeed! I wish more people would use fuelly or sites like it. Makes finding real world mpg figures so much easier. 45mpg puts the range around 270 miles per tank and 50mpg at 303 miles. I'd be happy with 200 miles to a tank on a regular basis! The best my SV1000 gets is 35 to 40mpg and the best mileage I've seen since owning it had been 150 miles. Most fuel ups are done between 110 and 130 miles. The 4.2 gallon CA tank sucks.

With the way the SDGT looks to turn out, you'll be able to go bonkers on it with less fuel ups and have some wind protection and better touring capabilities at the same time!

I think the 1190/1290 are more efficient than the 990

Based owning both 990 and 1190 engines

The article mentioned that they lowered the foot pegs a little. With a seat height of almost 33", it might not be too bad. I sat on a 1290 SDR in the showroom and it did not feel too cramped (for what it is) and I have a 34" inseam.

Still, the 1190ADV fits me better.

Its a great time to be alive!!! I bet they will fancy it up conciderably before the big bike show in November... Kidnap some 1990 Ducati design engineer, and i bet it will look mighty fine by showtime.

I doubt they would remove it, that beak is the front fairing. You are either going to like it, or not like it or not give a shit because of the whole package.

    I don't exactly consider that a beak.
Anyway, I think the design is excellent, and will probably look even better in production colours.

I'll be surprised to see it at the IMS show in Long Beach in November. They aren't releasing the actual production version until the EICMA show in Milan, Italy on November 17-22, which coincides with the Long Beach IMS show.
