you don't have to be WOT to appreciate a quick shifter.

even at 50% you will like the almost seamless shift.

Ive never had a quick shifter, but I heard a guy go by the other day on a BMW XR using his quick shifter... I think I might need one of those!

your bike sounds badass shifting at WOT at redline.

the only time I use the clutch lever is when I'm putting around the neighborhood at 25mph

I do that without a quickshifter. Don't need one for clutchless shifting.

Quickshifters are great and all but it's not a selling point to me, just a nice to have extra.

If the long nose is there to put weight over the front wheel so that it stays on the ground then it's not working! :D

There's also a blinged-up Super Duke 1290 Special Edition been announced.

180hp. Roomy, upright ergos and wind protection. Nice package.

    Who's getting one?

Basically a Super Duke R that has been beefed up to tackle the rigors of touring.

    Where do I sign?

The official web page is up:

So much for it having 180+hp and a colour dash. :(

And they have the nerve to claim the dash is "state of the art".

Tank is a litre smaller than suggested in the "leaks" too.

No mention of the QS (maybe it will be a PP) yet. I'm a bit disappointed so far actually.

On the plus side, the adjustable ergonomics and auto-preload and hints at customisable suspension settings (Motorcycle.com) like the Multistrada sound great.

Nice video, though. The front beak seems a little bit of a styling strain.

You must have not seen this info !

    QUICKSHIFTER
The GT is equipped with a race-derived quickshifter. It allows upshifts to be made under any load without using the clutch, which gains precious time that would otherwise be wasted in closing the throttle. And that would be a pitty.

173hp isn't anything to bat an eye at. I bet once you put an aftermarket exhaust and tuner on it, it will be making more than enough power. And really, your going to cry about not having a color dash?

6 gallons/23L is really nice. I don't see it as that big of a deal that they are claiming half a gallon less capacity.

As stated, the QS is standard, so you certainly missed the mention of that. Also the other, standard do-dads such as hill hold assist, slipper clutch, heated grips and a few other things.

This bike is what I have been wanting for a while, has everything that I have wanted in a bike and more.

These bikes seem to be the cat's meow but without a dealer network it's hard to get boned up over them.

I am fortunate to have a good dealer close by. Unfortunately, he told me today he does not know when it will be available here. He has already submitted his 2016 order and the GT was not an option.
