Reminds me of that quip...
"Just because you can doesn't mean you should."
Pretty sure I could spend at least a week riding the inyo national forest. Found some super fun fast flowing two track. The trick up there is to ride all the offshoots.
I had my jetting spot on the second we showed up to camp..the little one two five pulled my big ass up to 9100 feet no problem
About to go in, ed Harris is here for a Q&A. Come on down, lol.
It was hot yesterday..we had a group of 20 bikes run from apple valley to Slash X. Hydration was key. I was pissing crystal clear before and during the ride. My cooling vest and cooldanna really helped. Unfortunately we had a bike seize on our trip back so riding sweep I towed him back to the Slash and waited a few hours for the trailer to arrive.
Am I less of a man if I own a side by side ? I mean I already ride a 125 I might as well go all the way.....
But seriously I am kind of looking at Honda Pioneer 500 ... 50" width 4x4 and way cheaper than a Polaris 570. I need to get something my boy and I can ride/drive together and the 50" cars looks nice so we can hit some of the narrower stuff. I only work 4 days a week and having 3 days mid week off and not being out in the dirt or on the road every second I can is killing me. He is getting close to three years old he loves cars, the outdoors , road trips with dad and adventure so it only seems logical.
Anybody have any seat time with the little pioneer ? I know its not great car for the So Cal desert but I feel it would do ok cruising down here but be a good rig we can run the two track up in the sierras with ? what kind of range can you expect with the 4.1 gal tank?
Running up to Cactus Flats tomorrow around mid day...back side of big bear if anyone wants to go. Easy ride for the day I'm on an S10.
I'm paying my property taxes on the LA gov website, and it refers to my bill as an 'item' that I placed in my 'shopping cart'...WTF?
CSM guys - lets talk about riding.
Got a new NEXX helmet at the bike show - new lid from Portugal. Really nice - most comfortable helmet I've put on in almost 50 years. I like start-up enterprises.
I've been so busy haven't even had a chance to go ride with it.
Wow! Pretty spendy but great looking helmets. Did you get a good deal at the show?
Which one did you get? I've been using the XD1 Baja since April 2016 and I really like it. Not as quiet as my GT Air for the road, but it vents really well.
Ya, xd1. $300 cash no tax at the show from the importer. Dessert tan.
I'm too cheap to buy an Arai or a Shuberth. Lol
It replaced a pretty new Fly Trekker. Nice helmet but the Nexx is more comfortable and quieter.
I really like a dual sport helmet on the GS, screen down only on the freeway - I have to wear prescription Wiley X's. I like the peak/visor thingie for sun shade and good venting.
Did you end up selling the Tiger?
I got my XD1 from FC Moto. I think I paid like 430 euros, shipping included. Significantly more than you did, but I think the helmet is worth it. I think that adv helmets look better on these bikes, but I keep using my GT Air for comfort and quietness. Can't beat it.
Leaving for New Orleans on Saturday and will be taking it. Can't see myself making that trip with the XD1 having the other option.
Yep, two years ago on New Years eve. Got a '15 R1200GS on a end of year steal-deal.
I kind of miss the Tiger once in awhile, especially if there's dirt involved, but the GS does fine and it's way nicer on the hiway. And all the doo-dads are just great, the grips, cruise, nav, esa, more power, and way better 2-up.
Picked up a little sumpin for myself for Xmas...
Just wait until you master that thing then we will call you the Master-Beta
Any recommendations of a motorcycle seat re upholster ? Some of the stitching is coming apart but I'd rather just get a new material which is grippier. Looking for new foam as well as the stock seat is HARD.
Replacement seats are pretty pricey and none of the usual aftermarket places make inexpensive replacements.
