take a screen shot please
Nothing to screenshot really, Locus just hangs at the granting permissions screen, no message.
Mine did this 2nd to last update, but the last update fixed it.
I've just checked for updates and there is only the normal chrome etc updates available so Locus is up to date.
Phone is a blackview bv6000s with a 32gb sd card but no sim, wifi is connected and it's on android 7 patch 5 May 2017. I accept the t&c click next and accept the location and storage permissions, click continue and it just hangs there. I've reset the permissions in settings/apps but it still hangs. My wifi is very fast and has a good ping so I don't think it's that. I'm in the UK.
pull the sdcard, clear the locus cache from androids app settings, and try again ?
if the sdcard is corrupted you can get long hang times when it tries to access the database.
I'll try clearing the cache but it also hung before the sdcard was installed.
No, clearing the cache didn't work, neither did reinstalling it, I guess Locus doesn't like my phone for some reason.
that's really odd. sorry I can't physically look and see with is going on with it, or maybe stumble across the causes.
I'll try again in a few months, there was an update yesterday but still no different.
whether you set locus to store things, rename it to "locus-bak" or something.
then delete everything in android settings pertaining to locus.
then try again ?
sorry, I think this is actually an android issue. the last three updates have been pretty good here, even the betas
This does not really sound like a Locus issue, I have not seen anything about it in the Locus support thread.
Maybe, the phone is new but I don't run a registered SIM in it as it's only for navigation, no updates applied, Android 7 form the factory, no other app has had a problem, loads of memory etc. Maybe the lack of an active SIM is causing a problem?
no, the Sim card will not effect registering applications, Google play store, or well, anything other than cellular data.
if you message "menion" on the locus help forum/help desk about the issue he will likely solve it for you. iirc he's either the owner or the lead developer.
I doubt it. Haven't had a sim card in my S5 since it was new.
thank you !
On the import screen logout, and log back into whatever cload service you were using. I had it do something like tgat
Going with no. I have Locus on like 6 different devices two of which are the newest version of Andriod and haven't run into your issue. I have 3 separate devices with from basically Kitkat up with no sim cards and have also had no issue with app registration.
so my months and months of planning to attempt this Idaho Adventure was thwarted because of Hurricane Harvey. Was in Idaho set to go when I got a call from home that we were taking in water in our home. Any who, I spent months downloading offline maps for this Adventure. I am not seeing a way to copy these to an SD card to free up space on my tablet. I don't want to lose them, because I am going to attempt this trip again next year. Any suggestions?
Do you have your trip as a route or a track?
They both work independant of the maps.
You can delete the maps to free up space, and then just download them again when you are ready.
I do that a LOT....I have tracks from places I may never get to actually go and ride...but I get them and put them on the list of things to do.
To check them I download the maps I need...go throught them..make changes if needed then delete them.
If I get the chance to ride that track...I will just download the maps I need.
maps are stored in an sqlite database. go to your maps tab (their database entry) and it will display your maps directory. you can backup/share/move/copy that database wherever you like.
the map (usgs topo)
it's listing in locus
where it is using a file manager
