I have a 2013 GSW thinking about trading in on a 2018 lowered GSW . After reading a thread about an inmate wanting to change a lowered into a standard got my wheels turning. Shocks, center stand, side stand seem to be the only parts affected. Anyone know approximate cost to change my standard to a lowered by a BMW dealer or certified tech?

Best bet is to get your VIN and call a dealer. They’ll get you a quote for parts and labor pretty quickly.

I lowered my '07 12GS when new. Hyper Pro front and rear at -1", shorter BMW side and center stands. I'll guess total cost at about $1500. No regrets. Bike currently at 70k miles, going strong. Me too.

Did you notice any change in handling after you lowered the bike? I am sending my Wilbers in to Ted Porters for a freshening up. I asked them if they could set them up for a 1" lower ride height, and he said no problem since they will have them all apart anyways.

I lowered my 07 GSA with a set of Wilburs. Loved it. No downside whatsoever if sidestand and centerstand are matched. Used it on my sigline trip and a total of 60K miles.

Jeff, you need to add links to your sigline.

You said "see my sigline", but your sigline doesn't link to the ride report.
