Yea! I'm heading to Tuktoyatuk the first of June. They'll get a real road test.

Thats totally incorrect. The E07+ is for heavy bikes.

The ordinary E-07 is far the smaller bikes, the E-07 DAKAR for heavier bikes. The E-07+ (or E-07 ADVENTURE) is for the bigger bikes so still no answer to the question: why the need for an E-07+ DAKAR in 150 and not 170?

    it's all just marketing BS...

3 current tires as they eventually shift the plan to likely be 2 tires again. Heavy load rating and light load rating.
I liked the Dakar name better than + but whatever, makes no difference really. I never order a tire without checking the load ratings anyhow.

The 170 size doesn't need a light bike rating because there aren't any light bikes running that ridiculous tire size that would use an 'adventure tire'.

If you think this is tough, don't try to order a Pirelli Angel GT sport touring tire...

The Plus has a different tread pattern. Same shapes but much larger blocks. So I guess in the 150 size you can get the Regular (light weight and smaller tread), Dakar (heavy weight and smaller tread) and Plus (larger tread blocks and for higher HP bikes.) Maybe there's also a Plus Dakar, IDK.

Can we stick to facts instead of thoughts and possibilities?
    Currently there is:

E-07 Dual Sport avaialable in sizes up to and inc 150 rear and 110 front
E-07 Dual Sport DAKAR same as above (stiffer sidewalls)

E-07+ available up to 170 and 120. Quote from MITAS IS RELEVANT TO ALL + SIZES. Thats what the + means. (different tread to non + version) ie the + is not the DAKAR version.
E-07+ DAKAR only available in 150 size.

This information is all from the Mitas website.

I still don't understand what the E-07+ Dakar is. Or the need for it. Especially if the + is already beefed up for the big bikes, and not a replacement for the E-07.

I cant find anywhere that says the 170 is the Dakar version, can you point me in the right direction thanks :) . It certainly doesn't have the yellow stripe of the dakar.

The 170 is NOT called a Dakar version but it IS heavy duty due to being designed for the bigger, higher HP bikes, so perhaps should be called Dakar.

As of now - the 170/60-17 and 120/70-19 do NOT come in Dakar. We were told this design is durable enough to not need a Dakar version.

This may change in the future as we are just an importer, not privy to all decisions in Mitas. We just sell what they provide with info they supply.

I think there are more than a few people in every thread who ask questions because they didn't bother to read beyond the title.

Ordered an 07 Dakar rear for my 1190R at lunch yesterday, and within a few hours I had the tracking number. Awesome service! :thumb
