Have you made it down south to Three Forks yet? That's where i'd head if in this area. You can cross at warm springs and head SW towards McDermit. Would make a nice big loop.

Yes you can. Pay close attention to the river level. We've crossed there few times. One crossing looked great at first but nearly ended in disaster/swimming. Water started out hub deep and turned into nearly seat deep with a strong current. I got pushed downstream nearly 100ft below my intended target exit. There is a big deep pool just below the crossing. One trip down there we found a 4wd pickup that had been winched onto the bank and left. It showed signs of total submersion.

We had a great weekend of riding the Owyhee Front last weekend. Little colder than we would have like but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Hate to admit it but the tumbles jammed me up and stopped me in my tracks. Even got off the bike and it stood on it's own without putting the kickstand down. We had to lift the rear end to clear. Dag-gum tumbleweeds anyway. :lol3

Got my old 426 dialed in. Ready to go anytime! Anyone decides to head to my neck of the woods, gimme a text at 208-800-2291. Last week I rode from Owyhee Lake/Snively Springs back to Homedale. Great ride on sandy two-track but had to mind my manners as I was on the 1090. She don't turn like the dirtbike.

Yeah, but it still beats 10,000 baja sand burrs in your tires, boots, pants, jersey, etc.

O-country is back on my list for '18 after being balked by the gumbo mud in Hart Mtn area last May/June.

Owyhee Riders! We’re headed to Crystal Crane Hot Springs (just west of Crane, OR and 27 miles east of Burns on Hwy 78) first weekend in June for annual ride. This is our third year staging from the Hot Springs. Would any of you be able to help with GPS tracks or routes that we can share with riders? We can trade the registration fee for help too.

    Here’s the info: http://www.giantloopmoto.com/produc...-1st-3rd-at-crystal-crane-hot-springs-oregon/

Message me here if you’re interested. Thanks!

On a tip from MonkeyButt a few years ago, went to Jordan Valley. Spent a week camped by the creek above there on the road to Silver City. I would love to go back!!

See, you’re skiing but you really want to be riding! Bet you’ve had a great season though. That’s a great road to SC. Come visit this summer and we’ll head down there.
    Great pics!

I'll be down at Cedarville on May 10-13 and hope to find some ADVers there who want to come back by way of Owyhee area.

Would be pleased to meet up with you and friends with local knowledge over there. Cow Lakes, Three Forks, Silver City . . . like that.

I'm off for the next five days. Anyone up for a stroll thru the brush? Little bikes or big bikes?

We'll be doing camp and riding the 2 strokes this week Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sunday. Not leaving until Wednesday, so far we're looking at setting up base camp in either the Murphy area or maybe up in Riggins. Weather and snow level dependent.
