Simply signing in here - just bought this CT110 sight unseen in an on line auction at our local Auction Site - Trade Me - she's in the same Island as me - I expect to take delivery later this month.

My motivation - for long had a fascination with these little machines - rode several in the Apex Outback Postie Challenge in the Flinders, South Australia, in August 2014 - thanks to Kipo a South Australian inmate.

Look forward to participating in this forum.

Excellent news mate, I had one in my teens and have carried a fascination with them ever since.
I've often thought with a headlight guard surround, white XR fuel tank and gray luggage, you could take the mickey out of Boxabits and Gus the airhead :thumb

I was sitting on the veranda of the Windorah pub yesterday ad there was a ute across the road at the servo wit what appeared to be two posties with atv tyres on them and a single sided rear swing arm. I should have gone over an had a look but 100m was a bit far at the time

Well the idea of blending in on the postie bikes over here in Mexico is a failure! Even the Mexicans love the little old ex 'Straya post bikes! 38 000 k;s down and another 30 000 to go! Might have to have a crack at one of the new models when we get home. See if they are as tough as these old girls!

I'm not sure if this should be here or somewhere else. Please move if you need to.

I find myself looking for a postie bike. I've ridden plenty over the years, usually around farms etc and always thought they were just plain fun. However, I'm now looking for one for its' original intention…….. To deliver things! (who would've thought!)

So if anyone has one for sale around the brisbane area or has advise on where to look, please let me know.
I guess it would also be nice to get any advise on what to look for as far as problem areas or value type things that would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Josh

Lifan Engines - any good ? Legal issues ?

Anyone had any experience with these in Posties?

A postie has come up for sale here with a 125 Lifan engine
It is currently unregistered so will have to go for a blue slip inspection NSW
The rego papers have the original engine number
Now, seeing as how the engine is bigger and not a Honda, anyone have any real world experience of getting something like this registered in NSW ?

I don't know the legalities, But I am thinking along the same lines as Will.
We just Ran two Lifans around Vietnam for 2 weeks, they had 30,000k's on them. I dont know If they are on original motors. But they ran well, pulled better than my postie.

So does anyone know if the mighty ct90 serial number part of the cases fit a lifan?

My carb rusted away ( the screws to the tap ) , I've tried fitting a cheap chinese carb and got to the stage I'm ready to have a bonfire. Realistically the old ct90 motor is getting tired and I'm thinking she might have outlived her garage space...but if there was a relatively cheap / easy way to power her up....that might be interesting. Getting rid of the frkn points would be a bonus!

Or would anyone like an old ct90?
