Delayed flights.... that is all for now
Do bears dock?
Axe your "friend"... he may have a bit more info.
Left my house at 4:30a just checked into my hotel...
Spending more time working than riding .
Needing to install a new exhaust before I can ride again, cwhen I get the chance.
That sounds familiar....
'Course I make a little money
Haulin' coal by the ton
But when Saturday rolls around
I'm too tired for havin' fun
Got delayed the other day for deicing, missed my connection, ended up getting a direct flight instead! Winning!
Got there hours before I originally planned thanks to the delay
I call BS. Shit like that just don't happen. You obviously didn't tell the airlines or they would have rebooked you on next days flight.
It was actually one of you old farts workin for delta that decided to help out a young ff like me - he got me on a united flight cuz he had a buddy workin at their desk
Right on Jerry
When I was flying all the time and had some clout with the major airlines (mainly delta) they were most accommodating. Now nobody recognizes me and I’d like to keep it that way!
Now, if I could just stop staying in hotels enough to quit getting hand written Christmas cards I’d be able to ride some
Hey I remember those! I spent so much time at 2 particular Hilton properties that they were sending me chocolates for Christmas. Ya know yer spending too much time at a hotel when every front desk worker in the place knows yer name
Felt like walking in Cheers didn’t it... NORM!
Yep, and at the Montgomery Hilton Garden Inn, I even got a free beer at check-in. That was the same place where the barmaid would serve me gin martinis in a water glass, and damn near fill it up. That’s a lotta gin for $7! Place treated Diamond members right you think I’m lying?
I. AIN’T. LYING!!!!
I see a trip to Montgomery in my near future
Would that have been the one of East Chase, or Interstate Pkwy
Interstate Pkwy, Perry Hill exit. For a while I was spending a night there every week, had an RV dlr in Montgomery I had to keep a real close eye on. Keep in mind I haven’t stayed there in 8 yrs, things might be different now—but I’ve never been treated so well at any other Hilton property. That place set the standard!
So you’re saying It was a different time in America?!?
The Hampton I stay in when I’m in Norcross (30-40 nights a year) I’ll often be met at check in with a couple of cold yuenglings because they know I’ve usually been on the road all day, and could use em!
Yep, prolly a different time in America. I know one thing--being a Hilton Honors Blue member (which I am now) doesn't mean Jack Schitt, and that's the quintessential truth, Ruth!
A couple yrs ago I was riding home from VA and hit some Dark Clouds of DoomTM in Murphy NC, and stopped at the Hampton Inn there on Hwy 64. Walked into the lobby, flashed my Blue card, and asked if I could use their guest computer in their "business center" to check the radar on weather.com. They grudgingly let me into the business center, but acted like they were doing me the world's biggest favor. When I did that exact same thing back in my Diamond member days, they'd not only let me into the business center with a smile, they'd ask me if I wanted them to make some fresh coffee. Oh hay-ull yes
Life on the road in not without it’s upsides- yea verily
I’ve been standing in front of a nice young lady behind the counter just outside of Winston Salem and having heard her tell the folks right in front of me that they were sold out for the night. She seemed to find a room for me when I rattled off my Hilton number off the top of my head.
Finding rooms in sold out CITIES is usually a simple matter of a call to the diamond line. They will all ahead for you and secure a room that was reserved but not checked in yet.
Marriott has a better points program, but I stay at Hilton properties just because of how well I’m always treated. Somethings not up to spec? Let me comp you a night Sir. Need a suite for a meeting without the upgrade charge? Done. How about that balcony room with the marina view at the dumpster view rate? My pleasure Mr. Tail.
There are things I will miss when I’m done traveling.... that’s one of them. Luckily, I’m pretty close to lifetime diamond status
